DUCK DYNASTY’s Willie Robertson recently called on old friend and country superstar, Luke Bryan, to give some musical advice to his son Will, who is preparing to launch a music career of his own.

“My dad and Luke Bryan have been friends for a very long time,” Will told Parade. “I’m sure my dad went to a few of his concerts. Then Luke joined my dad’s Buck Commander team as one of the buckmen, so they hunt a lot together.”

He continued, “But obviously, Luke is one of the biggest country stars right now, and I got to just ask him a few questions about writing music and where he gets inspiration, how he gets it [and] what he does to [prepare].”

In a video of the meeting with Bryan, the country star shared, “My advice for songwriting is just…get out there and live.”

“Just live your life, and that’s exactly what he said,” Will told Parade. “That’s what he loves to write about — just what he goes through in his life and how he goes about it. It could be in my apartment, it could be out in the country where I get my inspiration. He said, ‘Just find that place and just sit there. Find a quiet place and just kind of soak in that moment and just listen.’”

He continued, “It really helped a lot. And it was also just good to sit down with a family friend that we haven’t seen in a while, [with] how busy he is with all that he’s doing. It was cool to just sit and talk and get some advice from him.”

Will’s song, titled “Home,” was just released. He celebrated on Instagram, writing, “This one’s hard to even believe as I type it… my first solo song, ‘Home’ is now out! …This song is what ‘Home’ means to me, and I hope it hits y’all the same way!”

Will told Parade that the inspiration for the song “is honestly just the whole idea of home. And, for me, it’s wherever God has called me to, [which is] really just back home for my wife and I in Louisiana.”

“My parents have been wanting me to come home for some time, and we live in different states, and so we miss out on a lot of family things,” he explained. “Sometimes we get a bit of FOMO.”

Will shared that he is “stepping out of my comfort zone with writing my first song” and “listening to the Lord and just following with where He’s calling us.”

With his family’s support and Bryan’s songwriting tips under his belt, Will’s music career is sure to take off!
