For KING + COUNTRY Frontman’s Son Steals the Show, and It’s Adorable

For KING + COUNTRY’s Joel and Luke Smallbone hosted a Q&A time during one of their tour stops, but Luke’s son Leo stole the show.

“What foods do you eat, or what vitamins do you take to keep up energy for these shows?” the Q&A host asked Luke and Joel.

“We did get IV three or four days,” Joel said before Leo added, “He gets AG1. It’s a vitamin.”

“What was your collaboration with Dolly Parton like?” the host asked.

“Very Fun. Very, very fun. She’s very nice and very fun. For a while, anyway…” Leo answered.

Luke then looked to Leo and asked, “How do you think it’s going?”

“Pretty good for right now,” Leo said.

The host of the Q&A then asked, “What do you guys do for fun when you have downtime?”

Luke mentioned tennis before Leo added, “Golf is a good sport sometimes. Sometimes golf’s not. Sometimes golf’s good. I got a lot of points in golf one time.”

“What’s it like having your children on tour?” the host concluded.

Leo, with a smile across his face, told the crowd, “Very nice!”

For most of the Q&A, though, Joel had no idea Leo was hooked up to a mic.

Joel looked over at his nephew and noticed he was talking in his shirt, finally realizing that Leo had been answering the questions the whole time.

“He looked at my face and saw the mic,” Leo told his dad and then the two laughed with each other.

“Behold the unfiltered thoughts of a 7-year-old. Leo joined us for our pre-show Q&A, and… well 🤷‍♂️😂” the Instagram caption read.

This isn’t the first time Leo’s stolen the show.

Earlier this fall, he got to meet his favorite singer — Lauren Daigle.

“Leo, so good to see you!” she said when the two met on the red carpet of a recent event. “I really wanted to see you,” he told her. When Daigle asked him why, he responded, “Because I love you as a friend!” After telling her how he loves her songs, Leo hugged Daigle.

Now 7-years-old, Leo is a living miracle.

In 2017, Luke’s wife Courtney found their son “gray and lifeless.”

“Yesterday I was mowing the lawn when I heard my wife frantically yelling for me to call 911,” Luke posted. “I wasn’t immediately sure why until I saw her holding our little boy, Leo, who was very gray and looking lifeless. She felt God impress on her to check on him while he was napping and after many prayers and some CPR, our little boy started to breathe again.”

Their son underwent surgery in 2018, and the couple expressed their gratitude to God.

“The heartache that I’ve experienced makes me very grateful that God allowed Jesus to die for us because my love is a broken love (yet still I feel so much!) but God’s love, perfect,” they shared. “I wonder how much more God’s heart must have ached! Because of Jesus, my wife and I have this great hope and trust me…we cling to it tightly!”
