NBC has a star-studded line-up in place for this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is second to none when it comes to world-class entertainment during the holiday season,” Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Media Group, said in a statement about the event. “It’s truly an honor to bring such an iconic event to our viewers year after year and partake in one of the country’s most beloved traditions.”
Hosted by TODAY’s Al Roker, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, the 98th Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature performances and appearances from Jimmy Fallon & The Roots, Dan + Shay, T-Pain, The Temptations, Idina Menzel, Charli D’Amelio and members of the WNBA team, New York Liberty.
MAD MEN and COMMUNITY star Alison Brie will cut the ribbon to kick off the parade.
There will also be six new balloons, per NBC: “Minnie Mouse, Extraordinary Noorah & The Elf on the Shelf, Gabby from GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE, Goku from DRAGON BALL, Marshall from PAW PATROL, [and] Spider-Man.”
The Wrap reported that this year’s parade will be the biggest yet, “with more than 5,000 volunteers, 17 featured character balloons, 22 floats, 15 heritage and novelty balloons, more than 700 clowns, 11 marching bands, 10 performance groups and music’s biggest stars, all welcoming Santa Claus and the holidays. ”

“The New York holiday tradition delivered a record audience of 28.5 million viewers across airings Thursday on the network and its streaming sibling Peacock,” Variety reported at the time. “All told across both platforms, viewership was up 6% from last year’s parade in viewers and the adults 18-49 demographic, where it hit a 7.2 rating. In the key demo, live viewing of the parade delivered a 5.3 rating in the demo. That’s a solid NFL-level turnout for a live telecast.”
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade airs live Thursday, Nov. 28, from 8:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. ET/PT.
