Influencer Nara Smith took to Instagram to share some sweet and intimate photos celebrating her daughter Whimsey Lou’s first birthday.
In a Reel, Smith shared photos and video clips of her baby’s first year of life.
Her caption reads, “Happy birthday little Whimsy Lou🍄I can’t believe it’s been a year already! Being a mom is the most magical, hardest and rewarding thing I’ll ever get to do, and I couldn’t be more grateful for it🤍”
Fans commented on the post and celebrated Whimsy.
“Seems like yesterday you were asking for suggestions on names and getting birthing braids! Oooo how time flies. Happy Birthday 🎂 Whimsy,” one user said.
Another person added, “When I watch your videos I feel like you guys live in a different time. Beautiful family, feels so traditional in a sense.
One user said, “i can remember when she was just born, time flies by so quickly 💞🥺.”
Smith is married to fashion model Lucky Blue Smith. The couple met through their modeling agency shortly after Nara moved to California from Germany. They wed in 2020 and have had three children since: Rumble Honey, 4, Slim Easy, 3, and baby Whimsy Lou, now 1.
Nara, now 23, always wanted to be a young mom.
“I’ve always wanted to be a young mom because growing up my dad would always tell us that he regrets having kids later in life, so I took that advice and it’s one of the best decisions I could have made,” she said. “I know it’s not for everyone.”
She also previously explained on an Instagram Q & A, “I know that 22 is considered young nowadays to be having kids, but I love being a young mom and growing with my kids. I never feel like I’m ‘missing out’ or not ‘living life’ like a girl in her 20s. Everyone’s concept of what they want in life is unique to them and I wouldn’t change my journey at all.”
Many know Smith for her viral “trad wife” videos, which often feature her wearing beautiful clothes while cooking. She doesn’t necessarily claim that label for herself, though.
“I don’t understand where that came from because I’m a working mom. I work, take care of my kids, and cooking is my passion. I love cooking, just showing that to people, so I never understand where that comes from,” she told TODAY’s Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager.
Smith’s viral videos show just how much she loves taking care of her family, and celebrating Whimsy’s birthday is another excuse for her to celebrate being a mom.
