Natalie Grant Collaborates with Dolly Parton on Latest Single
By Movieguide® Contributor
Christian artist and nine-time Grammy award nominee Natalie Grant has released a new single with Dolly Parton as part of her new album, “Seasons.”
The duo covered Whitney Houston’s “Step By Step,” “dubbed one of Houston’s best songs,” marking the first time Grant and Parton have recorded together.
Grant shared her personal connection with the song.
“In 1996, ‘Step By Step’ is a song I would blast on cassette in my beat up Volkswagen Golf as I drove to my job at Medicare,” she shared. “The dream when I moved to Nashville was music, not Medicare, but I had to do what was necessary to keep going.”
“This song was my reminder to keep putting one foot in front of the other. If you would’ve told me then that one day, I would not only be recording this song, but doing it with an international icon, I never ever would’ve believed it. I still can’t believe it,” the singer reflected.
Parton isn’t the only artist joining Grant on “Seasons.”
Grant also collaborated with “Mary Mary with their first re-recorded version of the smash hit ‘Shackles (Praise You),’ Tasha Cobbs Leonard on Paul Simon’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ and her mother and daughters on Bob Dylan’s ‘Make You Feel My Love.’”
She already released “You Will Be Found” with Cory Asbury, which is “currently #3 on Mediabase Audience Chart.”
Grant’s new 10-track album will release on October 6, 2023.
Movieguide® previously reported on Grant:
Christian singer-songwriter Natalie Grant appeared on the “Jesus Calling” podcast and shared how God worked in her life and career as an award-winning artist.
“We can choose to not fear even when things seem so scary,” Grant said. “We can have an anchor knowing that God’s love will never let us go. The world is unpredictable, but we don’t have to live according to that unpredictability because we have something that is predictable, that is certain, that is sure, and we can build our life on it, and that’s the love of God.”
