Netflix’s New Feature Lets You Revisit Favorite TV and Movie Moments

Netflix is rolling out a new feature that will allow viewers to revisit moments from their favorite shows and movies.

“Moments,” a feature that became available for iOS users in October and recently arrived for Android users, “allows you to share, save and rewatch memorable moments from titles you’re streaming, putting a spotlight — or bookmark — on scenes that crack you up, give you goosebumps or are completely satisfying,” CNET reported

Netflix’s website explained the process in further detail.

“Here’s how it works,” the company wrote. “Let’s say you’re watching the latest season of BRIDGERTON on your phone and want to save the scene where Colin and Penelope share their long-awaited kiss in the carriage. All you have to do is tap Moments at the bottom of your screen, and it’ll automatically save to your My Netflix tab.”

They explained that you can “revisit” the Moments you save at any time, as well as share a Moment on your social media platforms.

“The number of Moments you can save depends on the length of the content,” Netflix spokesperson Dorian Rosenburg told The Verge. “However, there’s plenty of space to save your favorite Moments, so most members won’t need to worry about a limit when it comes to saving across multiple shows and movies.”

This is the latest feature Netflix has added in an effort to attract new users and keep old ones. One of the streamer’s biggest new projects has been its efforts to get into the world of gaming.

“The company first dabbled in games with interactive titles like BLACK MIRROR: BANDERSNATCH and a CARMEN SANDIEGO game,” The Verge reported. “But starting in 2021, it made gaming a much bigger priority — Netflix hired a former EA exec and let people play a selection of mobile games for free as part of their subscriptions.”

The outlet added, “In August 2023, it launched the first tests for its cloud-streamed games that let you play its titles on a TV or on the web, which could help Netflix more easily compete with other non-mobile gaming platforms.”
