New Kids’ Series ESTHER Gives Children ‘The Hope Of The Gospel’

The Child Evangelism Fellowship’s new series ESTHER is working to combat the “immoral content” children are being exposed to these days.

“More than ever, children are exposed to immoral content on social media, in advertising and on many internet platforms,” said Andrew York, CEF’s Director of Digital Ministries. “ESTHER gives parents the confidence to know that their children are watching wholesome, entertaining programming with a biblical message.”

ESTHER is a five-part series inspired by the Book of Esther and “focuses on themes such as faith, courage, prayer, grace and providence. Each episode aims to instill biblical values and principles in young viewers,” per The Christian Post

The show is a part of CEF’s U-Nite TV Series, which aims to teach children the Gospel through their programs.

“On U-Nite TV, God’s Word is shared in a fun, engaging way to help children understand and apply biblical truths to their lives,” CEF’s website reads. “They can stream animated adventures that teach truths from the Bible, music videos to learn and memorize God’s Word, and stories that teach the Gospel. The series is available on Android, iOS, Android TV, and Apple TV.”

CEF Executive Vice President Moises Esteves explained, “Children need the hope of the Gospel, they need the hope that God can give into their lives. There’s a great need for the Gospel. The doors are open, and we just need more believers to get on board. Let’s reach children for Christ while they’re young, while their hearts are open, because as they grow up, the backpack of sin begins to be heavy, and hearts begin to harden.”

CEF isn’t the only studio providing families with content promoting moral and biblical stories.

Streaming service Minno teamed up with Slingshot Productions, Sunrise Animation Studios and Angel Studios for YOUNG DAVID, an animated series about King David’s early years.

“We want to invest in projects that tell excellent stories and spark important conversations, and Young David is one of those projects,” said Erick Goss, CEO and Co-Founder of Minno. “It’s exciting to be working on a series that represents the faith traditions of so many people globally.”

Movieguide® previously reported on YOUNG DAVID:

A new animated series, YOUNG DAVID, will explore King David’s early years.

“Young Christian families are starved for high-quality children’s media,” Minno CEO and founder Erick Goss explained

Minno is one of the companies behind YOUNG DAVID, as well as Slingshot Productions, Sunrise Animation Studios and Angel Studios.

“Our board made a decision [to] move forward with this idea of doing a series around young David and really tell the story of how did David become a man after God’s own heart,” Goss continued. “Because obviously, when you see David from the biblical narrative, you know that there’s a lot going on before we see him going into the valley and taking on Goliath.”

The CEO called the show a “huge favor from the Lord,” adding, “I mean, I really look at this as a blessing from the Lord in response to us being faithful in stewarding what we feel like he’s called us to do.”
