DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Jen Lilley recently shared the motivation behind her new book, Wake Up Your Faith.

“It’s like wake up! Wake up!” the Teddy Bear Award® winner exclaimed in a recent podcast interview. “Faith without works is dead. You say you have faith but you have no works, and it’s not that works saves us, but…if you have really encountered the love of Jesus, a natural byproduct of that is that it spills over into every area of your life.”

She felt like God told her that He wants believers to know that He is calling them to greater things, and that is not without trials. Just as faith is important, so are works and following God’s will — and how can you have faith and not follow it?

The 365 day devotional, which launched last November, helps to “reignite your faith, claim the promises of God, experience the presence of the Spirit and declare your heavenly authority.”

Lilley hopes her book reminds people that they “need to know that there’s only one real power. Real love is in Jesus. And I want them to wake up, and I like the church to wake up because, Man, if an evangelist is saying we shouldn’t talk about hell because it’ll offend people, like, I will tell you, God will shake down the church bare.”

“He will lay us out bare because people matter to him. And you cannot, you cannot, we cannot nullify the word of God. We cannot change it,” she explained.

Lilley recently had a vision to take her book to college campuses.

“I had this spiritual vision of a bright pink wave popping up all over college campuses, accompanied by a fire and revival of the Holy Spirit,” she told CBN. “And I was like, ‘Lord, what is this?’ And He gave me the name, ‘Wake Up Your Campus.’”

The event includes kits, which were sent to 13 campuses, that include 12 copies of her book and 40 tickets to be hidden around campus, asking finders if they’d like to be entered to win $1,000. The tickets kick-off other challenges that encourage “follow-up discipleship.”

“At the heart of the initiative is the Wake Up Your Campus Challenge — a creative outreach that places devotional resources and conversation tools directly into students’ hands,” a press release said. “By removing financial barriers, the program empowers campus leaders to focus on impact rather than logistics.”

Her campus ministry is live now.
