NFL Star Lawrence Guy: ‘Helping Those In Need Is a Priority to Me’

New England Patriots player Lawrence Guy is keeping his family and community in mind as he adjusts to life as a father of four.

“It’s a big adjustment for everyone involved,” Guy said of son Jaxon’s birth.

In addition to Jaxon, who was born over Mother’s Day weekend this year, Guy and wife Andrea share daughters Adriana, 6, and Isabella, 2, and son Lawrence Jr. (LJ), 4.

“As a father, I have to juggle the demands of a busy NFL schedule with the needs of my family. It’s important to maintain open communication and find ways to support each other during this transition,” Guy told People.

He continued, “Each child may react differently to a new sibling, don’t I know, but with patience and understanding, we work together to create a positive environment for everyone.”

The football player also shared that the more time he spends with his family, the more he and his wife want to give back to their community.

“While Andrea was giving birth to our second child, there was a struggling mother in a room next to us with no support. This truly touched Andrea, and together, we hosted our first baby shower for mothers in need, which was a huge success,” Guy explained.

The “Baby Shower Bash” that the couple hosts through The Lawrence Guy Family Foundation, “provides expectant mothers in need with essential baby items such as UppaBaby strollers, Nuna car seats, Dock-a-Tots, bottles, diapers, wipes, and clothing,” Guy said.

The organization hosts many other events, including back-to-school drives and holiday programs. According to The Lawrence Guy Foundation’s website, their mission is “to inspire and help disadvantaged families to achieve their full potential.”

That charitable spirit even extended to the day of Jaxon’s birth. The Bleacher Report reported that Guy and Andrea sent flowers to the 75 other mothers whose babies were in the NICU, where Jaxon spent some time after his birth.

“Giving back to the community and helping those in need is a priority to me,” Guy emphasized.
