USA Track and Field Olympic runner Noah Lyles and his fiancée, Junelle Bromfield, were baptized together this past Sunday.

The couple shared a video of their baptism in a joint Instagram post, adding Joshua 24:15 in the caption:

“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Lyles speaks openly about his faith, mouthing the words, “Thank you, God. Thank you, God,” as he lined up for the 100m sprint at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

After the race, he shared more about his relationship with God.

“I had to find my own journey with God and a lot of that came through track because there were a lot of times where I thought I didn’t know if I could do this,” Lyles told Premier Christian News. “God, if you really want me to do this, give me a sign. He gave me a sign, and I said I’ll never doubt you again.”

Lyles and Team USA recently participated in the Tokyo World Championships, where the athlete brought home the gold in the 4x200m to become an eight-time world champion.

“The 200m has carried me around the world and shaped me in ways I never imagined. Each gold is more than a medal; it’s proof of the work, the struggle, and the love I have for this sport. Thank you for being part of the journey,” Lyles shared in a post on social media.

Lyles also ran the 4x100m team relay, an event where Team USA dominated the field.

“Proud to be part of this men’s 4x100m team and to celebrate alongside the women as they brought home gold too. Moments like these remind me what it means to wear USA across my chest,” he wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to Team USA for the trust and to all the fans around the world who cheered us on. Your energy carried us every step of the way.”

Leading up to the final race in Tokyo, the athlete shared a series of photos of himself on the starting line getting mentally prepared. One of those photos included a moment of praise to God.

“I can do all things🙏🏽,” Lyles captioned the photo.

The eight-time world champion and Olympic gold medalist knows what it’s like to win. But most importantly, he knows what it’s like to win with Christ at the center of his life.
