ONE PIECE is the latest Netflix show to hit the big screen! The streamer recently announced the first two episodes of Season 2 will play in theaters.

“Experience your favorite adventurers like never before, surrounded by other fans just like you,” a press release from Netflix announced. “The special screenings will take place March 10 — timed to the season’s global premiere on Netflix — in more than 200 theaters in the US, Canada, and Japan. Showings in the US and Canada will be held at 6 p.m. local time.”

Season 2 of the popular live-action anime adaptation will see Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero) and Sanji (Taz Skylar) return, traveling to the Grand Line, where they will “visit bizarre islands, recruit more allies and battle formidable new foes as they search for the world’s greatest treasure.”

Executive producer and showrunner Joe Tracz spoke to SFX magazine about the upcoming episodes, sharing, “Season 2 has an incredible ending on its own that emotionally moves me every time I watch it, I think it tells an emotional journey, getting to a place that manga fans will know, where the story of Drum Kingdom ends. It’s beautiful and moving. It’s both visually spectacular and emotionally heartbreaking.”

“I think the season has a complete story to tell, and yet it’s setting up the following season that we’re so lucky to get to be in Cape Town filming right now,” he added.

Skylar, who plays Sanji, also teased some drama in Season 2, telling Numero, “I obviously can’t say much, but what I can say is that this season is wild. The whole production is really attempting to do something that I don’t think has ever been done on TV before.”

“The scale is immense. The sets are enormous, the action exponentialized, and all of us in the cast are somehow even closer than I think we’ve ever been,” he finished.

ONE PIECE has been a major success for Netflix, with fans and critics alike praising the show for remaining faithful to the original anime series.

Movieguide® called ONE PIECE’s first season “very well produced,” complimenting the “excellent storytelling, action sequences, and character development,” as well as its “strong moral worldview.”

Tickets for ONE PIECE in theaters go on sale Thursday, Feb. 26, at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET.
