For Oscar-nominated actress Margot Robbie, there’s nothing better than being a mom.
“It’s funny, you try to explain to someone who has kids, you don’t need to because they get it,” she told Entertainment Tonight, then joked, “And if they don’t, it’s probably just really boring to hear.”
Robbie added, “It’s the best.”
The actress and her husband Tom Ackerley welcomed their first child, a baby boy, in October 2024.

Robbie and Ackerley have kept the details of their son’s life private, but a source close to the couple told PEOPLE that they’ve been enjoying time together “as a family.”
“They waited a long time to get pregnant, so it was almost unbelievable when the baby actually arrived,” another source told the outlet. “They’ve both been settling into being parents.”
The source continued, “They’re homebodies so it’s been lovely to spend the time just them, at home with him. They’re so happy.”
Robbie has previously spoken about her desire to have a large family. In a 2016 interview, she told Sunday Style, “I want TONS of children…I grew up in a family of four [kids], so that sounds like a good number. We’ll see what happens; no time soon. I know that once I have kids, they’ll be my priority, so I want to do the family thing later.”
While the actress might have been worried about balancing work and motherhood, it looks like she didn’t need to worry; Robbie is currently hard at work promoting her latest project, A BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY.
“That’s the longest break I’ve ever had between jobs,” she said during an interview, via E! News, referring to the break she took between 2023 blockbuster BARBIE and now.
Do you think motherhood is the best?
“I thought it would be more scary to be walking onto the BIG BOLD set on day one, but it wasn’t,” Robbie said during a recent Vanity Fair interview. “Everything about this film was immediately comfortable.”
She continued, “If audiences feel even a tiny slice of how magical it felt making this movie, then they’ll have the most incredible experience in the theater. Making this movie was truly one of the most magical experiences of my life.”
Her co-star in the movie, Colin Farrell, also had plenty of good things to say about being a parent. The actor is dad to sons James, 21, and Henry, 15, and called them “the most important facet of my life and have been since they came into being.”
“They’ve taught me so much,” he continued. “Whoever I am today, it’s in great part to do with their involvement.”
Robbie is already well on her way to successfully juggling a busy Hollywood career and being a present mom!
