Patricia Heaton Could Be Coming Back to TV in New Series

By Tess Farrand, Staff Writer

Patricia Heaton is making strides towards TV once again. The Christian actress most notable for her roles on EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND and THE MIDDLE, which aired for a combined 18 seasons, will star in a new comedy series titled CAROL’S SECOND ACT.

As Deadline reports, CBS ordered a pilot for the series and lays out the storyline that “centers around Carol Chambers (Heaton), who after raising her two children and retiring from teaching, embarks on a unique second act: she’s going to become a doctor.” If CBS likes the pilot episode, it could be ordered to series and then make its way to television.

In addition to starring, Heaton will serve as executive producer along with the series’ writers Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins (TROPHY WIFE) and Adam Griffin, David Hunt and Rebecca Stay of Four Boys Entertainment and Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor of Kapital Entertainment.

The actress tweeted her excitement on Monday evening, Hey Tweatons! I’m one step closer to seeing you on the small screen again! @CBSTVStudios @CBS.”
