Pop Sensation Madonna Thinks Jesus Would Support Killing Babies

By Katherine Harrington, Contributing Writer

Pop icon Madonna is no stranger to controversy and her latest comments prove that in full.

In light of recent discussions concerning abortion, many celebrities have used their platforms to champion their side of the debate. Now, the public can add Madonna to that list…

Although Madonna was raised Catholic, she has an evidently warped view of Biblical womanhood that contradicts what Jesus teaches about caring for each human being, who is created in the image of God. In a recent interview, Madonna posed the following question, “don’t you think that Jesus would agree that women have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies?” Since her public comments, the “Me and Against the Music” singer has gone so far as to request a one-on-one with Pope Francis in an attempt to share her progressive thoughts.

Fans of the singer might think back to her song “Papa Don’t Preach.” In it, the lyrics describe a young girl who has become pregnant out of wedlock. The song then goes on to describe how she is keeping the baby, regardless of what others say. One of the lyrics read. “Papa don’t preach, I’m in trouble deep, papa don’t preach, I’ve been losing sleep, but I’ve made up my mind, I’m keeping my baby….”

Even still, Madonna has admittedly had several abortions. Despite the lyrics of her song, she has become a supportive member of the Hollywood Georgia ban that other celebrities have joined in on because of the new anti-abortion Heartbeat Bill which was signed by Governor Kemp.

What’s also perplexing is that in recent weeks Madonna spoke about the topic of giving children cell phones too early. In some ways, it seems that her comments about her children are rooted in experience so her later comments in support of abortion seem contrary to her dedication to her six children that she’s raised.

1 Corinthians 6:19 speaks to how Christ values our bodies and desires them to be honored. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit?” the apostle Paul says. By aborting a child, we destroy life, by the destruction of life, we desecrate the temple which God has wonderfully made for us. Throughout His word written to all of us, he tells us, “before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you…” (Jeremiah 1:5a).

Madonna may understand Jesus’s perspective on women as he looked upon them with respect on countless occasions in the Bible. However, she completely misses the fact that a pregnant woman is caring someone else’s body. As abortion continues to stir political and social fires among the general populous, with gas being thrown on the flames by influencers, celebrities, and major news outlets, it’s essential that we refer back to how Jesus views women. We are perfectly and wonderfully made just as the scripture in Psalm 139 says, and every life has eternal value.
