Michael Bublé might be a major star in the music world, but for the pop singer, having “strong faith” is the ultimate wealth.
“Rich isn’t what you think it is, kid,” he said during an episode of the “Diary of a CEO” podcast. “That word, ‘rich,’ that your friends use — rich, it sounds like money, and stuff, and things, and Lamborghinis, and tickets to go see Messi. That’s not rich.”
Bublé continued, “Rich is having a strong faith. Rich is having a great family and loving your family. Rich is having great friendships. Because those ‘rich’ things they’re talking about — the money — the people that I know that have the most stuff are the most miserable people that I know. And I don’t know how else to explain it, you know.”
He acknowledged that some might say it’s “easy” for him, a wealthy singer, to brush off monetary wealth, “but it doesn’t take long to realize that life has nothing to do with stuff.”

“We’re all sitting on that deathbed. We’re all gonna die — every single one of us. And nobody looks back and says, ‘…I wish I’d collected more stuff,’” Bublé concluded.
Bublé was previously vague about his faith, telling the Associated Press in 2009 that, while he grew up Catholic, he didn’t subscribe to one particular religion.
However, following his son Noah’s cancer diagnosis, the singer seemed to discover a relationship with Jesus. At the time of the then-3-year-old’s diagnosis, the singer and his wife posted on Facebook, “We will win this battle, God willing.”
The following year, the couple shared another statement: “We thank God for the strength he has given all of us. Our gratitude to his doctors and caretakers cannot be put into words. We’d like to thank the thousands of people that have sent their prayers and good wishes to us.”
In 2021, Bublé even lent his support to Glorify, a Christian devotional and wellbeing app.
“Whether you are in the studio, on the road, or even with family, it is incredibly challenging to carve out quiet time,” Bublé said in an ad for the app. “Prayer has been such an important part of my life. With Glorify, we now have the tools to find moments throughout the day to connect with God on our own terms.”
Bublé’s recent comments about true wealth are a wonderful reminder that, in the end, faith is what really matters.
