PRAY: WHEN CALLS THE HEART Actress on Life Support After Fall

Mamie Laverock, who plays Rosaleen Sullivan on WHEN CALLS THE HEART, needs prayer after a fall from a five-story balcony has left her on life support.
Laverock’s GoFundMe page explains that the actress was originally taken to the hospital for a “medical emergency” on May 11.
“Nicole [Laverock’s mother] was able to get there in time to save her life,” it reads. “Then got her to a hospital in Winnipeg. Mamie has since been transferred to Hospital here in Vancouver. Her recovery is unclear at this time but she is alive and is showing signs of improvement.”
However, on May 26, after she was admitted to the hospital, the 19-year-old “was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories. She sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support,” an update from her parents reads.
The news has left the Hallmark channel and those close to Laverock in complete shock.
“We are deeply saddened to hear the news about Mamie,” Hallmark Media wrote in a statement. “As a beloved member of our WHEN CALLS THE HEART community, we wish her and her family peace, comfort, and many prayers during this difficult time.”
Johannah Newmarch, Laverock’s on-screen mother, shared the news on her X page, asking for donations to help the family.
“I love this family, my heart is broken,” she wrote. “A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can. They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”

Per Deadline, “Laverock recurred as nursing student Rosaleen Sullivan on WHEN CALLS THE HEART’s first two seasons. She most recently reprised her role in Season 10 in 2023. She played the role of Britney in the 2020 TV movie SPOTLIGHT ON CHRISTMAS and also appeared in guest-starring roles on A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS and PSYCH, among other credits.”
