‘Prayers Were Answered’: Alexa PenaVega Updates Fans After Pregnancy Scare

By Movieguide® Contributor

Alexa PenaVega is updating fans on a scary pregnancy situation and thanking people for their prayers.

“I’m currently in the hospital,” she began a recent Instagram video. “I’ve been in the hospital for five days. I started bleeding a little bit, like, a week and a half ago. Not a huge, huge deal, but a little bit…I decided to go get it checked out.”

PenaVega continued, “The bleeding ended up stopping, and I was released. All was good. And then a few days later…blood just kind of went everywhere. It didn’t scare me…I have not felt fear, or being scared, or anything like that, but there was definitely a moment of ‘This is bad.’”

She and her husband, Carlos, “race[d]” to the hospital. PenaVega said she was especially worried because the baby was not moving at all.

“I was just praying over my stomach. By the grace of God, finally, on the drive over, Baby started kicking,” she said.

After getting to the hospital, the bleeding “calm[ed] down.”

“It looks like I have had, basically, a separation of my placenta from my uterus. Not completely; partial. Now it’s just a matter of ‘How long can we keep it like this? How long can I keep Baby in my tummy?’” PenaVega shared.

She continued, “There isn’t a rhyme or reason…none of it makes sense except crazy prayers were answered. Every single day I’m still pregnant here in this hospital is literally a miracle.”

“The power of prayer is super awesome and real. I have experienced it,” PenaVega concluded. “Thank you for your prayers and just keep on praying because we still have a little ways to go.”

Movieguide® previously reported on PenaVega’s pregnancy:

Actress Alexa PenaVega is opening up about the difficulties she faced during the first trimester of her fourth pregnancy.

“Guys, it’s finally happening, I’m finally starting the pregnancy vlog that I said I would do for a while now,” PenaVega posted on Instagram. “I’m so sorry for the delay; honestly, to be straight up, the first trimester of this pregnancy sucked. Like it was really, really, really hard.”

“This has been probably the hardest pregnancy yet on me, on all of us,” she shared, per Heavy.

In addition to preparing for the arrival of Baby No. 4, the PenaVegas recently announced they have moved to Nashville.

“We were so confused. We can’t just move to Tennessee! We had just spent the last 2 years living on and fixing this boat for our family to sail the world,” PenaVega wrote in an Instagram post. “But believe [it] or not every time we were ready to leave the dock, something would break. We were still so determined to take our adventure, but yet now we felt such a strange pull to move inland to Tennessee.”

She continued, “We’ve had a few pregnancy scares since we’ve been here and I am so grateful with Gods timing on getting us off the boat and into a home. To be honest, He pulled us out of our comfort zone and now more than ever we have to trust and rely on him with everything….BUT, even in the confusion and with so many questions…we cannot wait for this new season with our growing familia. The peace and confirmation we receive daily has been unlike anything we have ever felt before. SO… If God is calling you to something…RUN don’t walk! Nothing like leaping right into what God has waiting for you.”

She has previously spoken about how she and Carlos hold on to their faith and family values in the entertainment industry.

“Obviously, this industry is not set up for faith-based people,” she told Fox News. “It’s not really set up for families. I mean, if you think about it, most of the time families are leaving for months at a time. They’re split up. It’s really hard. We’ve really found a special way to make it work for our family. And because our kids are growing up seeing how it works for us.”
