Former NFL wide receiver Randy Moss was all smiles as he rang the bell to celebrate being cancer-free.

“All my treatment is over, ringing the bell, now I’m back with the family, man,” Moss said in a video shared by the NFL on ESPN.

“I want to thank everybody here at this hospital for welcoming me to be a part of their family, of their extended family,” he said after ringing the bell at the Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina. “I’ve told y’all this before, but you do a great job of taking care of people, and I know it’s an emotional moment, but I thank you all. God bless you.”

“It’s just a great day,” Moss added.

In December, Moss revealed that he needed step back from his analyst duties at ESPN to “address a personal health challenge,” later revealing that he was dealing with stage 2 bile duct cancer.

In a recent interview with GOOD MORNING AMERICA’s Robin Roberts, Moss opened up about the struggles he experienced during that time.

“I just think that when you live your life, you know, a certain type of way of, you know, eating right, taking care of your health, and all of a sudden you get diagnosed with cancer…I was overwhelmed,” Moss revealed. “It hit like a ton of bricks.”

He went into “fight” mode after receiving the diagnosis, leaning on his family and God.

“I talk about my faith in the Lord. I talk about how much I love my family. And I talk about the game that I grew up loving at a small age, and that’s football,” he said. “I put one more ‘F’ in that, in that category, and that’s the ‘fight,’ because that’s what I needed to do.”

His friend and former NFL star Deion Sanders also recently recovered from cancer, and the two turned to each other for strength.

“One thing that my wife told me is, ‘Man, get on out here and let the family love you. They miss you,'” Moss shared. “So, that’s the same message I gave Coach Prime, and he did that, and right when he did that, he texted me back a couple days and told me thank you.”

Moss is now back to his full SUNDAY NFL COUNTDOWN schedule.

Praise God that Moss can start the NFL season with a massive win: being cancer free.
