Ravens QB Earns Perfect Passer Rating, and It’s All Thanks to Jesus

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson achieved something very few quarterbacks ever can, and that’s a perfect passer rating.
He has a 158.3 passer rating, the highest a quarterback can achieve, and he also “completed 16 of 19 passes for 280 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions as the Ravens routed the Broncos and their No. 4-ranked scoring defense, 41-10,” according to Sports Spectrum.

This stat line gets crazier, according to the NFL: “It was the fourth time in Jackson’s career that he has posted a perfect passer rating in a game, breaking a tie with Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Kurt Warner and Ben Roethlisberger for the most such outings in the Super Bowl era (minimum 15 passing attempts).”

“The already two-time NFL Most Valuable Player is just the fifth player in NFL history with at least 20 touchdown passes and a 120 passer rating in his first nine games of the season, joining Drew Brees (2018), Aaron Rodgers (2011 and 2014), Peyton Manning (2004 and 2013) and Tom Brady (2007),” the outlet continued. “Five of those previous six seasons ended in those quarterbacks winning NFL MVP. (Brees finished second in MVP voting in 2018 to Patrick Mahomes.)”
To make it even more impressive, Jackson only practiced once last week as he nursed back and knee injuries to full health.
After the game, Jackson was asked how he was able to play so well despite only one practice. He gave all the glory to God.
“I knew what the assignment was; I definitely studied those guys,” the quarterback said. “Getting with Coach Tee (Martin, the QBs coach) and just putting in extra work because I wasn’t out there — just watching practice and studying film on those guys — that pretty much helped.
“And God. God, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that’s why we’re having so much success,” he added. “That’s the One that’s leading us throughout these games, week in and week out.”
