Rita Springer Praised God in the Desert, and He Taught Her This

Rita Springer shared the heart behind her new album, “Fed By Ravens,” and how the Lord brought her out of a tough season of life through music.

Despite feeling a chasm between herself and the Lord, Springer found Him calling her to write a new worship album earlier this year. Trusting in Him, despite feeling far away, Springer cried out for a vision for the album’s direction, and the Lord gave her the title.

“I knew that He was giving me language for the season that I had found myself. I was just in a season, I mean we all go through seasons, but this one just didn’t end. And I had to figure out how to sing myself out of the desert,” Springer told THE 700 CLUB. “These lyrics and melody lines were what I found to commune with God and find the pathway out of the desert.”

This season of dryness began with the difficulties of 2020 and had stretched on for three or four years. Despite fervent prayer for mental, physical and monetary support, Springer found no help from the Lord.

“It was just a very, very painful, physical season, and God wasn’t moving to heal,” she explained. “He was just saying, ‘Be patient and know that I am God and just sing.’”

Springer credits her trust in the Lord, even through a lengthy and trying season like that one, to her longstanding relationship with God.

“I have track records with the Lord,” she said. “I have a deep relationship that’s continuing to evolve. I think we have to have a relationship with Jesus in order to withstand some of the winds because some of the winds could knock you over.”

She encourages everyone to develop deep roots with the Lord in order to hold Him close enough to trust him even when it feels like He has been silent in times of need.

“My advice would be to get in the word and get Him in your bones. Believe that He’s in your DNA and that [He is true to] His promises no matter what they look like and how they come,” Springer said. “There is peace in the midst of the storm, and that’s what I can say.”

“Has God answered any [of my prayers] from 2023? Absolutely not, but there was a relief,” she continued. “He led me to the stream, and the stream was enough.”

She released “Fed By Ravens” earlier this year.

“These are songs born from dry riverbeds, songs of finding little flour and no oil before a miraculous provision,” Springer explained on her website. “This album stands as a testament that God’s provision and power, faith, and trust are ever-present, no matter how scorching the wilderness may be. If God can command a raven to feed a man, how much more is it in His heart to save us?”

The album features “notable collabs with TAYA, Anna Golden, kalley, Brooke Ligertwood, and Springer’s son Justice,” The Christian Beat reported.
