Russell Wilson put his faith into action as he handed out gifts to children and families at the Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital.
“Jesus, You are a healer!” the New York Giants quarterback wrote in an Instagram post accompanied by photos and videos of him with the children.
He also included John 13:14, the passage where Jesus speaks to his disciples after he washed their feet, commanding them to go out into the world and wash others’ feet.
“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet,” Jesus says.

Through his organization, Why Not You Foundation, Wilson and his wife, pop singer Ciara, presented the Mount Sinai Children’s Hospital with a check of $3 million in November last year.
“The Why Not You Foundation — founded by Russell Wilson and Ciara — has made a $3M gift to Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital to support patient and family programs, including the newly named Child Life Zone Theater and The Play Space in the Jack Martin Fund Inpatient Unit for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disease — the Hospital’s only on-unit playroom reserved for immunocompromised pediatric cancer patients,” the hospital shared on Instagram.
“Russell and I are so honored and humbled to support the incredible work happening at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital. Giving back through partnerships like this is a dream for us,” Ciara said of the contribution. “Our mission has always been to open doors and create spaces where young people feel supported and inspired.
“This transformational gift will help expand therapeutic environments where children can experience comfort, creativity, healing, and community,” the post concluded.
The couple’s foundation also contributed $2 million to “combat food insecurity.”
“What a gift it was to kick off our $2 million commitment to combat food insecurity, beginning with $500K in my hometown of Atlanta. We were honored to support the @acfb and @swatlcares alongside Mayor @andreforatlanta and Rev. Eric Thomas at Saint Peter’s Church,” Ciara wrote.
“1 in 6 children go to bed hungry. That has to change. Our hope is that access to nourishment and food security empowers more youth and families across the nation to reach for their dreams and live each day with a Why Not You attitude,” she added.
It’s incredible to see Wilson and Ciara put their faith into action as they, through their foundation, help those struggling.
