Even amid a busy NFL season, New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson made time to visit a local hospital to give back to children fighting for their lives every day.
The pro athlete visited Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital in New York, where he sat with families and spoke with them, posed for pictures and offered encouragement.
“God says yes, we can, and we know we will! Grateful for His grace!!! Thankful for every Tuesday with the kids,” Wilson wrote in a post on his social media.

In July, Wilson returned to the hospital for the first time since 2015.
“New York Giants’ Quarterback Russell Wilson stopped by Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital for a special visit—his first since 2015!” the hospital’s Instagram account wrote.
“Now calling NYC home, Russell reconnected with patients in the Child Life Zone, signed copies of his new book, ‘Why Not You?’ and even received his own white coat during a surprise moment at the Emergency Medicine Residency Ceremony. His visit, made possible with support from the Jack Martin Fund (@jack_martin_fund), reflected his deep, ongoing commitment to children and families — and aligned beautifully with our personalized, family-centered approach to care,” the post continued.
Wilson and his wife Ciara’s children’s book “Why Not You?” helps readers “see themselves achieving their dreams, no matter how outrageous they may seem. It’s a lyrical celebration of self-esteem, perseverance, and daring to shoot for the stars.”
Why Not You is also the name of the foundation the quarterback founded in 2014. It is committed “to transforming lives through education, children’s health, and the fight against poverty — empowering today’s youth to lead with a Why Not You? attitude”
In August, Wilson and his foundation helped raise $3 million for families in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
“What a magical night on the 50-yard line of MetLife Stadium for our @whynotyoufdn ✨💙 Thank you to @chef_morimoto, our community, our sponsors, and incredible performers for helping us with our campaign to raise $3M to support youth and families across the tri-state. Thank you to the @nygiants for making it such a special night. We are humbled, grateful, and inspired,” Wilson shared in a post on social media.
Even though Wilson is a full-time quarterback for the New York Giants and a dad to four, he makes time to show God’s love to others.
