Sadie Robertson Huff Praises God for Salvation: ‘What a Gift’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Sadie Robertson Huff shared the good news of salvation as she reflected on the true meaning of Christmas.

“Merry Christmas from The Huffs,” Huff posted on Instagram along with photos of her family.

“I’ve spent the last couple of weeks diving into the story of the Bible and trying to understand it better, and wow, this Christmas I’m feeling extra grateful! We, as humanity, were truly in need of a savior. I needed a savior! We needed to be saved from ourselves…our own brokenness, our own corruption, our own choices, our own evil, our own selfishness…our hearts needed a change, and on our own we couldn’t fix the problem,” she wrote.

“We couldn’t fix the brokenness of our heart,” Huff continued. “But JESUS. He came to fix our heart problem. I am so grateful for that!!!”

“I needed a heart change, and He changed my heart to a heart of compassion, purity, love, grace, hope, and desire for God,” she explained. “Did He make me/us perfect? Absolutely not. But He made us forgiven. He made a way, despite our imperfection, to be in relationship with a Holy God. The depth behind saying, ‘the reason for the season’ is so much deeper than I once knew it to be. I’m grateful for this time to reflect on Jesus coming to save us because of Gods incredible, beyond comprehension, mercy and love. WHAT A GIFT.”

“So, at a time that represents His birthday – we get to give each other gifts from a place of knowing He gave it all,” Huff wrote.

“If you’re hurting this holiday [season] turn to Jesus. If you experienced loss this year and the holidays are feeling dreadful, meditate on the hope of heaven Jesus gave us. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with all the gifts you are having to keep up with, reflect on the fact that the greatest gifts are from the heart and not from the nicest stores. If you’re feeling stressed, anxious, and burdened Jesus promises to help carry that with you and give you peace. HE is the reason for the season. Lean into Him,” she concluded.

Huff shared a snapshot of her family time this Christmas. “The sweetest Christmas!” she wrote in another post. “I’m so grateful for all of this special time with my family! The best gift 🎁🎄❤️”

Huff also used the holiday season to give back. “Think of those around you who you can help out this holiday season!!” she posted along with a photo of her and dad, Willie Robertson, ringing bells for the Salvation Army.

“If we are celebrating the story of Jesus let’s live like He lived! Love has an army – be a part of it friends,” Huff added before quoting Matthew 25:34-40.

Movieguide® previously reported on Huff’s family’s Christmas traditions:

Sadie Robertson Huff and her grandmother, Chrys Howard, discussed the importance of family traditions, especially during the Christmas season, on the “WHOA That’s Good” podcast…

“For me, times where I’ve just had a hard year, a really busy year and like over the past few years I’ve been so busy with work and things, but I know like I am not going to miss Mama’s brunch and the Christmas tradition at your house [and] talent show,” Sadie said. “I’m not going to miss those things because those are things that are so valuable to me and matters so much to me.”

In 2016, Huff shared a little more about what their family talent show involves.

“We go from house to house to house and then we end up at a house, normally my grandma’s house, and we do a talent show. Each family has to bring a talent…or do a skit that involves something that happened during the year,” she explained. “Super fun, super creative, and I love it!!”
