Sadie Robertson Huff Reveals How Jesus ‘Radically Changed’ Her

Sadie Robertson Huff revealed she recently recorded a song, a project that has shown her how much she has grown and revealed how God helped her overcome so many of her past insecurities.
“Today, I did something that, if you had told me at 17 I would be doing at 27, I never would have believed you. I would have looked at you in shock and wondered what the heck happened in the span of 10 years…because whatever it was, it would have had to be a miracle,” Huff wrote in an Instagram post. “Today, I sang and recorded a song that I helped write, and it is a testimony to overcoming body image issues.”
“First, singing in general has always made me insecure, and it’s something I’ve been so afraid of doing. Second, I was gripped by negative body image, low self-esteem, self-worth issues, anxiety, toxic eating habits, and mental loops,” she continued.
“The fact that today I sang a song that I wholeheartedly believe every word of and actually live out now is truly by the power of God – by the grace, mercy, and undeniable love of God becoming real to me,” Huff added. “In the past 10 years, Jesus has radically changed me. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. Today, I live in that freedom and sing from that freedom – freedom in my mind, my body, and my soul I hope that when this song comes out, it can lead others to find that same freedom.”
Huff has long been open about her past struggles with self-esteem. For years, she allowed fear and anxiety to run her life. While she had struggled with this through her teen years, Huff finally experienced freedom through Christ, who she finds strength and confidence in.
“This is not something new — that people are anxious or people worry,” Huff said last summer about how she has found strength in Christ. “I mean, Jesus addressed it…over and over again. Old Testament, New Testament, so it’s not something new.”
“God has an abundant life for us. He has a life, and He tells us, ‘Do not fear, for I am with you.’ And you know when you are followers of Jesus, He tells us, He’s like, I’m going and I’m leaving the spirit with you,” she added. “We have the spirit of God in us, so we should be walking differently.”

In a recent podcast, DUCK DYNASTY’s mother and daughter duo, Korie Robertson and Sadie Robertson Huff, talk about anxiety and how we should respond to it.
Sadie Robertson Huff is no stranger to anxiety. She’s dealt with it on and off for her entire life. After defeating it for several years, her anxiety came back when she was postpartum with her first child. When she found out she was expecting again, she wanted to use the tools she learned to make her second postpartum easier.
“I went through postpartum anxiety, which I didn’t really see coming because I had been living free of anxiety for maybe like two years at that point, and then it just slapped me in the face,” Huff said. “I wanted to do this [podcast] again even before I had the baby to remind me of the truth that I found and the ways out of fear that I found.”
Huff and Robertson acknowledged that it is not fear that’s the problem but playing the fears over and over again on a “loop” in your mind that causes it to escalate to an unhealthy place.
“Fear is a normal human reaction, you’re going to be afraid of things that are scary,” Huff said. “I don’t really think that you should live fearless, I think if you don’t have any fear, you don’t have much wisdom.”
