DUCK DYNASTY: THE REVIVAL returns to the charm of its humor, treating viewers to scenes where Willie allows himself to look silly, and the Robertsons tease one another. A positive view of ministry, the Bible, and faith is woven throughout “The Robertsons Are Back,” with a spotlight on how worthwhile it is to raise children in the faith. Though there is one scene where a duck is shot on camera and another with toilet humor, overall, MOVIEGUIDE® finds DUCK DYNASTY: THE REVIVAL acceptable for viewers of all ages!

More Detail:
The faithful Robertson family is back in A&E Network’s DUCK DYNASTY: THE REVIVAL, a sequel series to the smash success of the original DUCK DYNASTY. It follows the legacy of the late Rev. Phil Robertson, patriarch of two multi-million-dollar hunting companies: Duck Commander and Buck Commander. Their son, Willie, has been running both companies, but with the popularity of the family’s media presence, he hasn’t been around Duck Command as often as usual. The first episode, “The Robertsons Are Back,” follows Willie as he considers the changes his children and grandchildren are bringing to the family business.
The first episode opens with series favorites Willie, his veteran uncle Si, and Willie’s brother Jase out hunting and reflecting on the new generation of Robertsons. Most Robertson’s children have married and have children of their own, with a new grandchild on the way.
Willie returns to Duck Command after a long absence and finds that while the fun of the workspace is still there, its shape has changed, especially his office, which Sadie has taken over and now uses as a counseling room. Willie humorously grapples with the changes and decides to tell the company that he is going to be “fully semi-retired.” His children and their spouses join him in a duck hunt to test which one will be the worthiest “heir” to the CEO title.
In the meantime, Willie’s wife, Korie, plans a baby shower for their newest grandchild. Miss Kay, the family’s matriarch, joins her and prays over the latest addition to their family and thanks God for the blessing of children.
Eventually, Willie comes to realize that his family can manage the various branches of their company by working together, building on the foundation he laid. After their newest grandchild, Xander, is born, the family gathers together to celebrate and thank God for the blessings He’s given them, especially for allowing them all to remain faithful to Him.
“The Robertsons Are Back” is a return to fun form for the DUCK DYNASTY crew. There are plenty of laughs and good-natured teasing, and behind it all is the background of the beautiful woods the Robertson family loves so much. In addition to being high-quality, this episode’s story does a great job of catching viewers up on what’s been going on in the Robertson family’s saga since the conclusion of DUCK DYNASTY.
DUCK DYNASTY: THE REVIVAL starts its first episode off on a great foot, championing a strong moral and Biblical worldview. It radiates an encouraging perspective on marriage and family, rooted firmly in faith. The blessing of children who love God and a family that loves one another is given a beautiful spotlight in “The Robertsons Are Back.”
That said, there are some minor instances of immorality when Willie, in a flashback, kicks a box and shouts at his family members; his ego ruffles as a joke for much of the episode. Also, there is one scene dedicated to toilet humor. Overall, though, MOVIEGUIDE® finds DUCK DYNASTY: THE REVIVAL’s first episode acceptable to all viewers.
