A little over three years after his snowplow accident, MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN star Jeremy Renner continues to heal and hopes to help others, including first responders.
“I mean, I’ll be in recovery for the rest of my life,” he told Fox News Digital. “I think it goes beyond acting. I almost didn’t want to go back into acting because I had to focus so much on real life. Nonfiction kind of stuff. To go into fiction was a little difficult, but I’m glad I’m back doing it.”
In January of 2023, Renner was run over by his Sno-Cat snowplow. According to Variety, he suffered “eight ribs broken in 14 places, right knee and ankle broken, left leg tibia broken, left ankle broken, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken and more.”
Following the accident, Renner has been on the road to recovery, turning to more alternative methods for healing this year, including red light therapy and hyperbaric chambers.
“There are a lot of great things we’re progressing in it,” he said of his treatment plan. He added that he’s trying “different therapies from red light and hyperbaric chambers.”

Renner has also utilized peptide therapies, which are “really great for hormone replacement as we get older. You don’t have to be in an accident do any of the things I’m doing. These are just life stuff as we age, but those are also very, very key to my recovery from tissue damage. Thirty-eight broken bones, all that type of stuff.”
He recently partnered with the emergency response company RapidSOS, the “leading public safety AI company,” whose mission is to provide “critical intelligence for first responders and security teams.”
He believes his partnership with the tech company will help first responders by providing them with more information about emergencies.
“Otherwise, I’m just going to talk about it with 911 operators and my friends in the fire department and ERs and that type of thing,” he said. “But now it could be done in a really quite, even a global way really, because the biggest thing we all need in emergencies is information. And the lack of information is when the time starts ticking on us. RapidSOS became a wonderful platform for me to be able to talk about something I’m very passionate about.”
When Renner isn’t working on recovery treatments, he’s in the gym with his family.
“Gym time with family and friends makes an otherwise agonizing experience into a magical, fun communal experience,” he shared in a video on his social media.
Since the accident, Renner’s goal in life is to “Be with my family, get better every day and do acts of service and give to others as much and best as I can. And that’s how I choose to live my life from moving forward since the accident.”
It’s incredible to see how Renner used the nearly fatal accident to transform his life and help others.
