Scotty McCreery Calls Newborn Son ‘Our Little Miracle’

Scotty McCreery had a year full of professional accomplishments, but the best was becoming a father.
McCreery and his wife Gabi welcomed their first child together in October, a son named Merrick “Avery” McCreery.
“It’s been hitting me every day, just looking at him,” the singer said of becoming a dad. “It could be when I’m eating breakfast or when I’m taking a walk, and realize I have a stroller too instead of just my dog.”
He also recalled the first time he laid eyes on Avery.
“It was a lot of emotions,” McCreery shared. “Pride and love, for sure. It was just instant, unconditional love. I’ve never felt a love like that, never knew a love like that could exist, and at the same time was just so proud of Gabi and all the hard work she did during this time. She was so awesome through the nine months of pregnancy and the delivery — she’s a champ.”
Gabi is a pediatric nurse and McCreery calls his wife “a natural nurturer.”
“I think she was born to be a mom,” he gushed. “Just watching Gabi be a mom makes me love her even more. He’s our little miracle.”

AMERICAN IDOL winner Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi have just welcomed their first child, Merrick “Avery” McCreery.
Their son was born October 24, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
In a joint Instagram statement, the couple wrote, “Never known a love like this. Merrick ‘Avery’ McCreery joined us 11 days early on October 24th at 4:34am! 7 lbs 13oz of nothin but love.”
The couple thanked everyone for their prayers, before writing, “Healthy baby and a healthy mama! Praise God.”
McCreery also posted a selfie of the family, with the caption, “Welcome home, Avery!”
