Shia LeBeouf Admits He Only Finds Satisfaction On Set

By Allyson Vannatta, Staff Writer

Shia LeBeouf recently revealed he’s only happy when he’s on set.

During a conversation with Kristen Stewart for “Variety Studio: Actors on Actors,” LeBeouf answered the question, “What does acting give you that the rest of life doesn’t? Why this job?”

The question was first posed to Stewart, but after she answered, she turned the question to LeBeouf.

“The most intimate moments of my whole life happened on set,” LaBeouf said. “I don’t know if there’s anything more intimate than creating something with somebody. I think I’m deeply dissatisfied in life.”

“Yeah, but this is your life,” Stewart said.

“Exactly,” LeBeouf said. “This is where things get tricky for me, it isn’t my whole life. I have to get okay with that. That’s usually where things go awry for me. When I’m not on a set, life gets hard.”

“Do you do anything else,” Stewart asked.

“No, this is why I’m trying to develop. Trying to grow,” LeBeouf said.

LeBeouf has been on an intense spiritual journey throughout his Hollywood career.

While filming the World War II movie, FURY, the actor gave his life to God. Yet in recent years, LeBeouf said he no longer believes in God, but said he has been influenced by his costars.

LeBeouf filming HONEY BOY, a recently released movie about his life, while on press tour for THE PEANUT BUTTER FALOCN. LeBouf’s co-star in PEANUT BUTTER FALCON, Zack Gottsagen, asked him about God.

“We were getting ready to do a scene, and Zack said, ‘Do you believe in God?’ And I thought, no f—— way are you about to explain God to me, Zack.’ LaBeouf tried to keep it together as his voice jumped an octave. ‘Zack said, ‘Even if He’s not real, what does it hurt?’” LaBeouf continued.

He added, “I don’t believe in God. But, did I see God? Did I hear God? Through Zack, yeah. He met me with love, and at the time, love was truth, and he didn’t pull punches. I’m grateful.”

These statements are heartbreaking, as Christ desires for all of us to have a relationship with Him.
