Sigourney Weaver Might Join THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU Cast

ALIEN actress Sigourney Weaver might join the Star Wars franchise for the new movie THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is “in talks” to join the cast.
“THE MANDALORIAN creator Jon Favreau is directing the feature, which is expected to film later this year. Favreau, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm chief creative officer Dave Filoni will produce the feature,” the outlet added.
Earlier this year, Favreau confirmed the production of the new film, saying, “I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
While casting has not been confirmed, Walt Disney World News shared a synopsis:
The Mandalorian, a lone bounty hunter, is tasked with capturing Grogu, a mysterious and adorable creature. Instead, he forms a strong bond with Grogu and strives to protect him from various threats, exploring his evolving purpose in a post-Empire galaxy.
Filming for THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU will begin soon.
“THE MANDALORIAN is one of Star Wars’ most well-known properties, and is possibly the most popular thing Disney has created since acquiring the rights to the franchise. Ironically, THE MANDALORIAN’s success is largely because of a cast composed (initially) of entirely new characters – meaning it was initially a high risk. But it has embedded itself within popular culture, becoming Disney+’s flagship,” ScreenRant reported.
Stay tuned as more news for THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU is released.
A portion of Movieguide®’s review for THE MANDALORIAN Season 1 reads:
“Chapter One” of the new streaming series, THE MANDALORIAN, is about a futuristic bounty hunter who finds an unexpected challenge on his newest job. A new client gives him the task of retrieving a wanted alien creature of some kind from a small fortress on a sparsely inhabited planet. After working with a talking bounty robot to kill the guards protecting the fortress, the Mandalorian finds out their quarry is not at all whom they expected.
“Chapter One” of THE MANDALORIAN starts slowly but is packed with action. It brings the well-known world of STAR WARS to life with a new spin, while introducing new characters to the galaxy far, far away. The cliffhanger at the end keeps viewers on the edge of their seats wanting to know more. It’s one of the best cliffhangers since a well-known STAR WARS character said, “No, I am your father” in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. “Chapter One” of THE MANDALORIAN has a light moral pro-life worldview and no foul language, but there’s lots of violence and scary moments. So, caution is advised for older children.
