New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis and his wife, Tamela, have recorded a new episode on their podcast for the first time in three years.
“The wait is over!! The first episode of our three-part mini bonus series of Tea with Tamela is now LIVE 🥳 ” Tamela shared on Instagram. “I’m sitting down with someone who’s no stranger to the show, @demariodavis, for a conversation full of life updates, laughs, and stories you won’t want to miss (trust me on this one 😆)!”
In the episode, the couple revealed that in their three-year hiatus, they added a child, have continued to defeat father time as far as playing football, and have even cooked at two Super Bowls.
“A lot has happened. We have a new kid who wasn’t here. She was not conceived. She wasn’t even conceived yet. Wow. So she’s about to be two. We are in a whole new season of life,” the couple said.
“Football. We’re still playing football, still playing football. So two years ago, we’d have been in like, year 11, year 12, and folks like, ‘okay, he’s going home any minute now,’ and we’re still playing,” Demario added.
Tamela then said that her husband was “defeating father time.”
But Demario returned with, “My father is the father of time. That’s what I try to get people to understand.”
Through his work on and off the field, Demario was named the “Saints club winner for Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year!”
The award “recognizes an NFL player for his excellence on and off the field. The award was established in 1970 and was renamed in 1999 after the late Hall of Fame running back, Walter Payton. Each team nominates one player who has had a significant positive impact on his community, with one winner selected from the 32 club winners. Each year, club winners are recognized beginning in Week 14 with a WPMOY trophy silhouette helmet decal applied through the end of the season. In addition, all current players who have received this esteemed award are honored with a trophy silhouette patch on the front of their jerseys,” the NFL reported.
“Grateful and humbled to be selected as the Saints’ nominee for the 2025 Walter Payton Man of the Year. Moments like this remind me that every platform we’re given is borrowed, and every opportunity is a chance to serve something greater than ourselves,” Davis wrote after he was selected for the award.
“Our family moves by a simple focus — a quiet mantra that keeps us grounded: Faith · Family · Food · Football. My wife calls it “The F Word,” but for us it’s a way of life. These values shape our home, our work, and the way we show up for people. They remind us that love, compassion, and service are the real measures of a life well lived,” he continued.
After three years away from the podcast, the Davis’ sat down to record a new episode and to update their followers on what’s going on in their lives.
