CAIN bandmember Taylor Cain recently gave fans a glimpse inside her life as a touring musician, as well as being the wife of an MLB player.
“My name is Taylor, and I’m in a band with my siblings called CAIN,” she said in a vlog. “Whenever I’m not touring or writing songs…my life looks very different. My husband is a professional baseball player [Steven Matz].”
Cain continued, “He’s playing for the Tampa Bay Rays. We’re so excited, but that means we’re moving to Florida!”

Her video showed the process of packing up and heading to Florida, with Cain explaining that when she’s on tour, she and her children travel to wherever Matz is to spend time with him.
Cain also spoke about the family’s decision for her husband to join the Rays, saying, “I kinda just sat back quietly and prayed that God would help us make the right decision.”
“I’m so excited to be here,” she said in a clip showing the family spending time in their new home in Florida. “I’m so excited to make new friends.”
Cain and her siblings, Madison and Logan, have been performing as CAIN since 2012, initially playing country music before they realized it wasn’t fulfilling. They began making Christian music, eventually landing a record deal and several Dove Award nominations.
“When I was in college, I was going to just pick a job for the money. I honestly was,” Cain said in an interview with TBN. “And my dad called me after he saw us sing together, and he was like, ‘You know what you’re supposed to do.’ He said, ‘Do not pick a job just because it will provide for you, but you do what God’s called you to do.’”
In an interview with Patheos, she reflected on the Christian artists that came before CAIN who paved the way for them.
“I could never say thank you enough to all the artists that didn’t try to water down their songs. They said we’re gonna sing about Jesus, and we’re gonna do it gladly and be proud of that,” Cain said, naming artists like Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith.
She added, “It’s just sometimes I wake up and I’m like, what kind of world, what am I living in? This is such a dream.”
Cain’s new video gives fans an inside look at how she balances her career as a successful touring artist with her commitment to being a wife and mother.
