THE VOICE Season 27 winner Adam David thinks it is “crazy” that people see him as an “inspiration” for his sobriety journey.

“I think the biggest wow moment, I guess, is how many people are reaching out, thanking me for being an inspiration. That’s kind of crazy,” David said in a reel posted on his Facebook. “You know, they have X amount of time clean and sober or whatever, or 30 days, you know, or, like, I’ve had a lot of people reach out just thanking me for sharing my story and that this is where they’re at. And that’s a pretty cool thing.”

While David competed on the show, he opened up about his addiction and sobriety journey.

The singer continued: “I guess that was kind of the hope: by sharing my struggles, other people will feel comfortable sharing theirs, which will help other people feel comfortable sharing theirs, and I think stuff needs to be talked about. I think that’s where pain can be transmuted into something helpful.”

David is six years sober and often plays at different rehabilitation centers.

“March 28th was six years. And I got to put on a concert. What I’ve been doing the last couple years is on my anniversary, putting on a concert. So I got to do that this year and we sold out the theater, I’d never done that before,” David told Deepest Dream.

“I had somebody reach out and [to reinforce that] I’m doing a good job. It’s a scary thing to put yourself out there,” he added. “And just to know that I have so much support from people that I don’t even know is a really special thing for me.”

After he was crowned the champion, he took to his social media to express his deep gratitude to all those involved with his experience on THE VOICE.

“From the very first note of ‘Baby I Love Your Way‘ to ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah‘ I’ve poured my heart into every moment. Thank you for the love, the votes, the messages and for believing in me every step of the way,” David wrote.

Now that Adam David has concluded THE VOICE, his goal is to put out original music and to perform live shows.

“I see myself putting out original music and traveling the world, performing it,” he told Deepest Dream. “I see that as a vehicle to help other people who maybe are still struggling, and like I would love to get into a more philanthropic or philanthropic world. I’ve always seen my music as a vehicle to get into that place. So yeah, man, I wanna travel the world playing music. That’s been the dream since I was a little kid.”

David is ready to take the next step in his music career, and his story will certainly continue to inspire fans.
