Angel Studios has officially confirmed the cast for its new season of THE WINGFEATHER SAGA, including some well-known voices.

Season 4 will feature the voices of HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS’ Jim Broadbent, THE LITTLE MERMAID’s Jodi Benson, PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN’s Kevin McNally, WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE’s Alkaio Thiele, THE CHOSEN ADVENTURES’ Romy Faye and THE WILD ROBOT’s Henry Witcher, Angel Studios announced in a press release.

The values-driven series features the Igiby family as they uncover secrets and fight against darkness. It’s based on a book series by author Andrew Peterson.

The show is produced by Shining Isle Productions, with staff who have worked for Pixar, Big Idea, DreamWorks Animation, Valve and Blue Sky Studios.

The fourth season will premiere on Angel later this year. Season 1-3 are available now through Angel.com or through the Angel App.

Part of Movieguide®’s review of THE WINGFEATHER SAGA Season 3 episodes 1-3 says, “The first three episodes of THE WINGFEATHER SAGA:  Season Three are excellent. The action scenes, voice direction and animation quality are all superb. The characters are believable, the dialogue is natural, and the writing is wonderful.”

“Moreover, the first half of Season Three has a strong Christian, moral worldview. It favors family, faith in God, perseverance, hope, and heroes battling a harsh world of tyrannical monsters using magic…However, THE WINGFEATHER SAGA: Season Three has some intense fantasy violence…”

In the finale of Season 3, Janner Igaby has to confront a challenge as the Throne Warden and the family begins to repair damage that his brother Kalmar caused — with lots of obstacles in the way. Meanwhile, Sara and the children at the Fork Factory grow restless and prepare to fight.

Season 4 is expected to pick up where Season 3 left off. Peterson said the new season introduces Celtic culture and noted that the landscape has changed in every season.

“We’re literally changing lands, right?…We’re trying to immerse people in those lands and cultures,” he said.

Showrunner J. Chris Wall shared what makes him proudest about the series last year.

“Watching a family work together while battling a terrible enemy. Siblings fighting for each other and parents jumping into the fray with them,” he said.

“It just feels great to me, like THE INCREDIBLES or THE MITCHELL’S VS THE MACHINES. Real families with authentic conflict, but a deep love for each other.”

Hopefully Angel will provide an update on Season 4’s release date pretty soon!
