These ‘Extraordinary’ Photos Capture THE CHOSEN Season 5’s Stories

THE CHOSEN creator Dallas Jenkins just revealed some exciting new photos ahead of its Season 5 theatrical premiere.
The four pictures, shot by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz, give fans a taste of what they can expect from the upcoming onscreen portrayal of the Last Supper.
“What makes [Leibovitz’s] work so extraordinary is she tells stories — in seconds — and then you look deeper and you find more,” Jenkins said in a statement. “We’re trying to tell stories of some of the most iconic people who ever lived. They actually lived and breathed and had fear and doubt and felt things like joy and betrayal. So in a season like this, where you see all of those things, it felt like the season that was in need of someone most like her to communicate that photographically. When she agreed to do it, we knew that it was going to elevate the show and bring something to it with her portraits that we can’t do.”
Leibovitz added, “I admire what Dallas Jenkins is doing so much…He is the artist of our time doing the Bible.”
THE CHOSEN Season 5 will premiere in select theaters March 28 in three parts — Part One (episodes 1-2), Part Two (episodes 3, 4, 5), and Part Three (episodes 6, 7, 8). The show is expected to make its streaming debut later in 2025.
“I’m really excited and proud of Season 5. It’s on a whole other level. People have no idea what’s in store,” star Jonathan Roumie told Woman’s World. “I mean, we’ve leveled up the show in ways that I don’t think anybody expected. “The emotional range that we see from Jesus has never been captured in this way before. Nobody’s ever really seen depictions of the things that we’re doing because nobody’s ever attempted it before. So I’m really excited for people to see what’s in store.”

Luke Dimyan, who plays Judas, praised Jenkins in an interview with PEOPLE, touching on his commitment to deliver historical accuracy and entertainment.
“THE CHOSEN tries to be very respectful to the time, the history, the people that this story takes place in,” Dimyan said. “That’s why it’s almost a historical drama. We get into the politics of it. We get into the economic situation of the people of Israel and how they feel both oppressed and financially burdened by a military occupation of Rome.”
He continued, “It gets very specific. And I think that’s why it’s become so big. It’s become so widespread because it’s not just about telling the story of Jesus, but it’s about understanding the story of Jesus.”
