THE CHOSEN producers Chad Gundersan and Chris Juen revealed on the red carpet of this year’s Movieguide® Gala the they hope the success of THE CHOSEN inspires storytellers to create more faith-forward content.
“Hopefully, it just opens the doors for more and more projects. I mean, you think about HOUSE OF DAVID, obviously THE CHOSEN has other things,” Gundersan said. “The Bible’s a pretty big source material, so there’s plenty of stories to tell, and hopefully that standard can continue to just get better and better.”
Gundersan and Juen were not only presenters at this year’s Movieguide® Gala but were nominated for THE CHOSEN: THE LAST SUPPER: PART TWO (up for the Best Family Movies and Epiphany Prize Movies awards) and the animated children’s series THE CHOSEN ADVENTURES (nominated for the Epiphany Prize Television and Best Television/Streaming for Children awards).

When asked what he was most looking forward to, Gundersan pointed to THE CHOSEN ADVENTURES, saying, “Obviously, opening the stories of the Bible to yet the younger generation but also doing it in a fun and animated way.”
“It’s pretty exciting for us as well, we had no idea that the kids in the season one were gonna love it so much,” Juen added. “And now that we get to start from scratch and create something for them and for it to be recognized, it’s really exciting.”
Part of Movieguide®’s review reads:
The first six episodes of THE CHOSEN ADVENTURES are very engaging, with lots of humor. They have a strong and inspiring Christian, biblical worldview. Abby and her friends learn lessons about God’s sovereignty, forgiveness, compassion, and gratitude. The series also features strong examples of friendship, family and marriage. The first six episodes of THE CHOSEN ADVENTURES are free of any questionable content. They contain a few instances of cartoon peril, which could be lightly troubling for very young viewers.
THE CHOSEN ADVENTURES posted a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram, including an interview with Noah James, who plays Andrew on the show.
“I am — animated! Kids will, I think, love the show,” James said. “It’s also one that parents can watch and be entertained.”
THE CHOSEN creator Dallas Jenkins took to Facebook, encouraging fans to support the faith-forward streaming platform, Wonder Project.
“The success of THE CHOSEN has made a statement that there is an audience out there all over the world, and that there are people and creators willing to create projects that can be successful like this,” Jenkins said. ” That make it worthwhile to put resources behind these kinds of projects.”
It’s exciting to see how God is at work in Hollywood!
