SHIFTING GEARS star Tim Allen just finished reading the entire Bible and plans to begin it again.
“Finished the entire Bible it’s been a 13 month word by word page by page no skimming journey. Humbled, enlightened and amazed at what I read and what I learned. I will rest and meditate on so much. I will begin it again,” Allen shared in a post on X.

The iconic sitcom star first opened up to his fans about his Bible reading back in August 2024.

“Never took the time in all my years to ever read and really read the Bible,” Allen wrote on X. “Currently, almost through the Jerusalem Bible Old Testament and almost done with the Prophets. Next up to New Testament. So far, amazing and not at all what I was expecting.”
A few months later, in October, Allen updated his followers about where he was at.
“Continuing my reading of the complete Bible. Finished a rather intense Ezekiel now on to Daniel. The challenge in reading this Book is how I translate words that the Eternal expresses to the temporary. I need a Snickers,” he shared.
In February of 2025, Allen revealed that he had read and re-read the entire Old Testament.
“After nearly a year, I have finished the entire Old Testament, and the experience of re-reading, dedicated focus, and no drifting has made this a humbling, overwhelming experience. What a treasure. Three days into the New Testament,” he announced on X.
The LAST MAN STANDING star has spoken more openly about his faith in recent years, discussing what he learned through the Apostle Paul’s writings on comedian Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast.
“Paul said something very intuitive that I’m still studying, because he says law was basically invented to develop sin,” Allen said on the podcast. “Without law, you don’t know what sinful is. So, law was basically just to give you guardrails of what the world is.”
He explained that reading the Bible has brought more clarity that philosophy ever did.
“What you’re going to find is the cycle of ignorance with philosophy,” the actor said. “And that’s where I’ve been in the last 20 years. Philosophy gets run in these circles. It can’t explain anything, really.”
Hopefully as Allen begins to read the Bible again, he gains an even deeper understanding of who God is and what He’s done. What a powerful reminder to diligently seek the Lord through His word.
