Tim Allen Continues ‘Amazing’ Bible Reading Journey
By Movieguide® Contributor
Tim Allen is continuing on his journey to read the whole bible, an experience he’s found is full of unexpected and “amazing” challenges.
“Continuing my reading of the complete bible,” the actor posted on X. “Finished a rather intense Ezekiel now on to Daniel. The challenge in reading this Book is how I translate words that the Eternal expresses to the temporary. I need a Snickers.”
Allen had previously shared his attempt to read the bible, cover to cover, in another X post earlier this year.
“Never took the time in all my years to ever read and really read the bible,” the TOY STORY actor wrote. “Currently almost through the Jerusalem bible Old Testament and almost done with the Prophets. Next up to New Testament. So far amazing and not at all what I was expecting.”

The actor has previously spoken about his faith, telling 20/20 that the death of his father when he was just 11 complicated his relationship with God.
“For years, I just did not like this idea of God, church,” he explained. “[I was] still a churchgoer, but constantly a cynic.”
He eventually found his faith again, and now refers to God as “the Builder.”
“I always do ask…The Builder, what did you want me to do?” Allen explained. “And I do ask it. But you got to be prepared for the answer.”
He added that his own life experiences have proven to him that God has a plan for us all.
“Whoever built me, this is too much, too weird that it happened by accident,” he shared. “It didn’t happen by accident.”
Allen is currently hard at work on his latest TV project, SHIFTING GEARS. The sitcom will see Allen star as Matt, “the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop,” per Variety.
“When Matt’s estranged daughter (Kat Dennings) and her kids move into his house, the real restoration begins,” the outlet continued.
