Tim Tebow recently shared the core values of his marriage to Demi Tebow, from empathy and compassion to embracing God’s calling on their lives.
“It’s not just for our marriage, it’s for us at the foundation, for us as a family, and for the companies that we get to be a part of,” Tebow said of the couple’s values on “The Skinny Confidential” podcast.
He said, “Our first core value is that we’re protectors…we protect one another, protect the vulnerable, protect each other, protect the people we get to serve.”
The Tebows’ next core value is that they “value and seek wise counsel,” as it’s important to them both to be “coming from a posture of humility more so than from a posture of pride.”

The couple’s third and fourth core values center on empathy. Tebow explained that “when we hurt, they hurt,” then added, “We get in the foxhole when necessary.”
“Life can be really hard, but we don’t have to be in there by ourselves,” he explained.
Lastly, Tebow said he and Demi “embrace the joy and the burden of the calling.”
“We believe the joy of the Lord is our strength, but we also believe in a burden and that it’s in the kindness of God that He would give us a burden,” he said. “And that we would carry that carefully.”
He concluded, “We want to help. We want to make a difference.”
The Tebows have previously spoken about how their faith and commitment to serving others has created a strong foundation for their marriage.
“It’s great to have someone by my side and we can be making an impact together,” Tebow told PEOPLE. “It’s sort of like I say in the book: That we have to make the right choices to fulfill our responsibilities and really make a difference in the world.”
He continued, “There have been so many things we’ve gotten to do together. We’ve gotten to find the things we have in common, but also to find where we’re different. We’ve served together, which is the most fulfilling thing.”
The couple recently celebrated a big change in their lives; they welcomed daughter Daphne Reign this summer.
“Here she is — our daughter,” the Tebows wrote in a joint post on Instagram. “Our answered prayer. Daphne Reign Tebow — created in the image of God. Royalty as His princess. Our biggest prayer over her is to reign in God’s purpose for her life.”
The couple’s core values have built a strong foundation for their marriage, their faith and their humanitarian work.
