UPtv just revealed their upcoming Christmas schedule, including eight new original movies, as well as a musical special.
“At UP Entertainment, the curation of an uplifting, diverse and uniquely special holiday offering for our viewers every year is our passion,” Hector Campos, the senior vice president of content strategy and acquisition at UP Entertainment, said in a statement. “Celebrating the true meaning of the season is at the forefront of our selection process, and our movies celebrate the magic of the holiday season with stories about family, love, hope and faith.”
Campos added, “With so many people needing to scale back in different ways this holiday season, we wanted to deliver an abundance of Christmas programming so uplifting, holiday cheer was plentiful for our viewers. We have a diverse slate with something for everyone this Christmas season.”
UPtv’s Christmas programming kicks off November 3, with the first original movie of the season, WE’RE SCROOGED, premiering November 5.
WE’RE SCROOGED follows ex-high school sweethearts who are visited by three Christmas ghosts that show them what they gave up — and what they could still have.
CHRISTMAS TIME CAPSULE, airing November 12, sees Tiffany work to convince best friend James that she’s the one for him before he proposes to someone else.
The sequel to COUNTRY HEARTS, COUNTRY HEARTS CHRISTMAS, brings the Jameson Family back to fans’ screens. Sisters Tori and June must choose between participating in an important live Christmas show or going home to spend the season with their family. It premieres November 19.
MISTLETOE CONNECTION tells the story of Kate, a show owner, and Mark, a developer whose work threatens Kate’s business. The pair connect over a love of Christmas before realizing they’re on opposing sides, but the magic of the holiday season might just bring them together. It premieres November 26.
A CHRISTMAS HOMECOMING is a musical special featuring the Gaither Family, airing December 2.
A wedding planner reconnects with her first love in YULETIDE THE KNOT, premiering December 3.
CHRISTMAS AT AN AMISH BAKERY tells the story of Sarah, a former member of the Amish community who left years ago to be a book editor. When she needs to find a cookbook to save her job, Sarah heads home, where she reconnects with family and meets a handsome local who helps her work to save her family’s bakery. It airs December 10.
In DIAL S FOR SANTA, insurance investigator Lana and police chief Nick work together to solve a string of robberies before Christmas. It will premiere December 17.
Airing on Christmas Eve, A CHRISTMAS LETTER is “a modern love story-meets-epic adventure that ultimately brings a family together with an uplifting, feel-good look at how the spirit of the holidays – and help from some pro hockey players – can unite a community and new-found friendships,” according to the network’s website.
Movieguide® previously reported on UPtv’s partnership with WHEN CALLS THE HEART creator Brian Bird:
WHEN CALLS THE HEART creator Brian Bird and his production company True Brand Entertainment announced a partnership with UPtv.
“True Brand Entertainment, founded by Bird, Brandon Clark, Tai Truesdell and Darin Chavez, and the network have a multi-picture licensing agreement, creating a series of uplifting and values-friendly romantic comedies,” Variety reported…
“In this age of a thousand TV shows all clamoring for attention, it’s impossible to break through the noise without passionate fans to help spread the love,” Bird said.
“When everywhere else on TV there are only zombies and vampires and crystal meth dealers 24-7/365, it leaves a massively undeserved audience starved for uplifting content,” he continued. “And when you bring them what they are hungry for, it’s a very simple exchange: they love you back.”
