Washington Commanders stars are glorifying God after clinching the team’s first playoff berth since 2020 in an overtime win against the Atalanta Falcons.
The Commanders had a slow start to the game and entered halftime down 17-7.
However, “with a playoff berth on the line at a raucous Northwest Stadium, Daniels led the Commanders down the field in overtime and hit Zach Ertz for the game-winning touchdown to defeat the Falcons 30-24,” Sporting News reported.
After the game, NBC asked Jayden Daniels, “You guys are headed to the playoffs. Jaden, on that final drive — the game-winning drive — the fans were chanting ‘MVP.’ How did you get it done, after last week, you did it again this week?”
“Man, really nothing but God once again. Battling through adversity, you know, just blessed an highly favored for real,” Daniels declared.
The reporter then turned to tight end Zach Ertz and asked, “Zach, walk us through that touchdown catch.”
“First of all, glory to God like Jaden said,” he began. “It’s been a long couple years, honestly. And being able to play with Jaden at the end of my career is such a blessing for me.”

According to the Washington Commanders media team, “Daniels was exceptional for the second straight game and delivered clutch moments when the Commanders needed him most. He finished the night with 354 total yards of offense to go with three passing touchdowns. He had 127 on the ground, which helped him surpass Robert Griffin III for the most rushing yards by a rookie in NFL history.”
After halftime was over, the Commanders took the field and scored two quick touchdowns.
“The Falcons still had a chance to win in regulation, thanks to a touchdown pass from Michael Penix Jr. to Kyle Pitts,” Washington wrote. “A few minutes later, Riley Patterson was in range for a 56-yard field goal, but his kick landed short.”
The Commanders won the coin toss going into overtime and took 12 plays to drive 70 yards and take the win.
