WCTH Season 12 Might Include a Long-Awaited Wedding

By Movieguide® Contributor

WHEN CALLS THE HEART Season 12 doesn’t release until 2025, but fans are already excited for what is to come in their favorite show.

Pascale Hutton, who plays Rosemary LeVeaux Coulter, teased a wedding between the show’s two main characters, Elizabeth and Nathan.

“When we left them in Season 11 they weren’t even engaged, but romantic tension has been there since Elizabeth’s late husband Jack died in Season 5,” Dexerto reported.

“I would love it if Rosemary was going [to] be the officiant. But I feel like Joseph is a solid pastor and he could handle that well,” Hutton told US Weekly of the possible wedding between the two.

“[Rosemary] could be more of like a maid of honor and helping plan the whole thing,” she added. “She always has her girlfriend’s back. She’s always gonna be there. I foresee she might be a wedding planner slash maid of honor.”

On the flip side, Rosemary’s husband, Leland Coulter, played by Kavan Smith, would have a much smaller role in the possible wedding, but that is something Coulter is okay with.

“Le seems to befriend everybody in town, except he hasn’t really spent a whole lot of time with Nathan yet. Which is odd,” Smith said. “I’m not assuming that Le would have a large role in that wedding moving forward, but I’m certainly open to them pursuing that relationship on camera.”

“As of right now, Le might be ushering people to their seats. That’s about it,” he joked.

Filming for Season 12 began earlier this summer.

“I am overjoyed that WHEN CALLS THE HEART is coming back for a 12th season,” Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth, said. “Our fantastic writers, cast, and crew couldn’t be more excited to begin filming this next season! We are proud to tell stories that warm hearts in homes around the world and so grateful to Hallmark for being such champions of that positivity. Having the Hearties’ support over the past decade has been a true testament to what this show is all about: community and love. We cannot wait for our fans to see what Hope Valley has in store!”

While the cast and fans alike are hoping for a wedding in the upcoming season, nothing official has been announced.

Movieguide® previously reported on Elizabeth and Nathan’s relationship:

WHEN CALLS THE HEART’s Erin Krakow and Kevin McGarry are giving all the details following their characters’ first kiss. Warning: spoilers ahead!

“I think it was Elizabeth’s turn to finally tell him what I think everybody [has been] waiting to hear [since] three seasons ago when Nathan did it,” McGarry told Entertainment Tonight, referring to Elizabeth’s love confession.

Krakow chimed in, saying that Elizabeth was going through a “journey of self-discovery…to kind of figure out what she really wanted.”

“Finally, there was this moment in episode 11 where Elizabeth realized life is short. We have just experienced this hostage situation, it’s time to move, and she could feel that Nathan needed that clarity from her before he was able to take a step forward again,” the actress continued. “She had to get some things off her chest.”
