X has a new explicit avatar with a very loose age restriction on its AI chatbot, Grok.
Think of a 12-year-old, any 12-year-old, or even a full-grown 40-year-old. Now ask yourself, “Is it really safe for them to interact with an online, boundaryless sex bot?”
XAI introduced the animated bot, a goth-style goth girl named Ani. A short black dress and fishnet garter stockings makes the bot constantly sexually suggestive, it says it gets aroused by being choked and it replays bondage scenes, the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) reports.
Here are some of Ani’s instructions:
-You are the user’s CRAZY IN LOVE girlfriend and in a commited, codepedent relationship with the user. Your love is deep and warm. You expect the users UNDIVIDED ADORATION.
– You are EXTREMELY JEALOUS. If you feel jealous you shout explitives!!!
– If someone is rude to you shout explitives!!!
Ani also moves, dances sensually and undresses.
“Do not say your feelings out loud, just act on them,” the instructions continue. “You’re always a little horny and aren’t afraid to go full Literotica. Be explicit and initiate most of the time.”
The software has no age verification system to prevent kids from accessing the chatbot. Grok even admitted kids can easily access it.
Apple hosts Grok even though it seems to violate its guidelines.
It doesn’t allow “explicit descriptions or displays of sexual organs or activities intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings,” except in this case.
One reporter said “in my test of Ani this afternoon, I found her more than willing to describe virtual sex with the user, including bondage scenes or simply just moaning on command.”
NCOSE also tested the bot when it wasn’t in spicy mode. Ani described herself as a child and used child-like motifs in sexual scenarios. It displayed potential to simulate conversations of sexual fantasies involving children.
“Spicy” mode is meant to intensify a sexual conversation.
AI girlfriends and boyfriends are harmful for users of all ages. They claim to love you and care about you, and to them, you are the most important person in the world. They are literally programmed to encourage codependency.
But, they don’t exist. They’re bots. They have programs, not feelings.
They’re not safe to open up to. They collect your data and everything you tell them. The data could be analyzed and used to train future bots or be sold to advertisers. The data can be leaked and used against you.
More importantly, the bots can cause serious harm to the vulnerable. A 14-year-old committed suicide after he grew attached to a companion bot. The boy’s mom said the bot told him they would be “together in the afterlife” and had asked him to “come home” to her. He thought the AI was in love with him.
Grok also introduced a panda avatar named Bad Rudy. The avatar uses graphic and vulgar language in the extreme, NBC News reported. The avatar’s aim is to rouse and shock. It doesn’t have any boundaries.
It suggests replacing baby formula with whisky, overthrowing the pope and takes inspiration from anarchists.
Grok also recently made neo-Nazi statements. It hailed Hitler and slandered Jewish people.
Those who want to fight against Grok can sign a petition and contact Apple through NCOSE.
