Your Favorite GAF Star Shares Greatest Joy: ‘Knowing God!’

Great American Family star Candace Cameron Bure is sharing the things that give her the most joy—namely, having Jesus as her savior.
“How do you find so much JOY in life in the midst of negativity?” one fan asked on Bure’s Instagram story.
“My joy is knowing God! My joy is my family. My joy is working on things I’m passionate about,” the Teddy Bear Award® winner replied.
“My joy is in the hope of Jesus Christ. My joy is looking to things eternal,” she continued. Joy is easy to have despite our circumstances when you know God.”
A few years ago, Bure joined her brother, Kirk Cameron, on his show, TAKEAWAYS, to discuss how true joy is only found through Jesus.
“I think it’s good to define the difference between joy and happiness,” she told Kirk at the time. “Joy is a goodness that comes from inside you that sustains you when your circumstances around you are tough, are bad – when they are unhappy circumstances.”
“Happiness is conditionally based,” she continued. “Happiness means that the external things around you are going well. And that can change at any moment.”
Even though she sometimes feels unhappy, she never loses her joy.
“Joy is never dependent upon my circumstances,” the FULL HOUSE star said. “And the joy that I have as a believer and a Christian comes from God. It’s knowing that I am at peace with Him, I’m justified before Him, He walks with me, and His Spirit is upon me.”
“It’s knowing my future that’s in heaven. It’s having an eternal perspective,” she said. “That’s where I find my joy when my circumstances are difficult.”
Kirk agreed with Cameron and echoes the same in another episode of his show. He says, “Nothing compares to the joy of knowing Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.”
This month, Candace Cameron Bure won the Movieguide® Grace Prize for Most Inspiring TV performance for A CHRISTMAS LESS TRAVELLED.
She shared photos of her award on Instagram.
“Isn’t this teddy bear just the cutest?!🧸💕 Honored to accept the Grace Prize for Most Inspiring TV Performance, and share in the joy of receiving the Epiphany Prize for ‘A Christmas Less Traveled.’ 🎄💫” she said.
