MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for young children for TIMMY FAILURE: MISTAKES WERE MADE.
THE MANDALORIAN: SEASON ONE
THE MANDALORIAN takes place after the fall of the Empire in the STAR WARS universe, with a story about a bounty hunter who risks life and limb when he decides to rescue a child from Jedi Master Yoda’s race who’s been marked for death. As an action series, THE MANDALORIAN delivers the goods and has some positive moral, redemptive values, but the plot and character development are sometimes lacking, and the series has a mixed worldview with New Age STAR WARS mysticism and various codes of ethics and spiritual beliefs from different groups of people and alien creatures.
TOGO is a heartwarming action adventure about Leonhard Seppala and his dog, Togo, two of the unsung heroes of the 1925 “Great Race of Mercy,” the legendary dog sled serum relay from Nenana to Nome, Alaska. TOGO is suspenseful, emotionally engaging and cinematically breathtaking, with a strong moral worldview extolling perseverance, gratitude, selflessness, kindness, courage, repentance, and generosity. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children due to some suspense, brief foul language and references to luck.

ALADDIN is a spirited live action remake of Disney’s classic 1992 cartoon with Will Smith playing the role of the blue genie, who helps a kindhearted Arab street urchin win the heart and hand of a beautiful princess. Beautifully put together, the live action ALADDIN is as wonderfully entertaining as the original cartoon, with many positive messages celebrating truth, honesty, justice, compassion, courage, humility, freedom, family, and doing the right thing.
ZOOTOPIA is an animated adventure comedy about a rookie bunny rabbit policewoman working in a vast animal metropolis, who teams up with a sly, streetwise fox to solve a case of a dozen predatory animals who’ve mysteriously disappeared. Some of the animals go berserk in scary ways in a couple scenes, but ZOOTOPIA is funny, exciting, heartwarming, and beautifully animated. It has something for everyone, including positive references to God, prayer and miracles and a positive view of police work for media-wise parents and their older children.
AVENGERS: ENDGAME picks up five years later where the last movie left off, with the remaining Avengers still mourning the loss of their friends at the hands of Thanos, but deciding they must find a way to go back in time and defeat Thanos once and for all. Some plot points are unresolved and some storylines are left hanging, and there’s lots of foul language, some other edgy, immoral content, and even a few tedious, annoying moments in AVENGERS: ENDGAME, but the movie has a unifying, emotionally powerful, morally uplifting main plot that extols family and fatherhood.
RATATOUILLE is a wonderful, savory concoction from the incredible Pixar team in an incredible, but delightful story about a country rat who pursues his dream of culinary greatness among the gourmet restaurants of Paris. Some of the cartoon violence skews toward older children and teenagers, and some moral points are ignored by the dramatic action, but RATATOUILLE has a brilliant light Christian worldview with strong moral elements and very strong sentiments favoring a capitalist meritocracy.
ANT-MAN AND THE WASP

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP is a highly entertaining sequel. It has a driving plot, lots of great laughs, exciting action, and heartwarming themes about parents and children, but it’s marred by excessive foul language, which undermine the movie’s strong family-friendly features.
LADY AND THE TRAMP (2019)
LADY AND THE TRAMP is a wonderful live action reimaging of the 1955 Disney cartoon classic, available on the new Disney+ streaming service. The movie brings the characters to life as Lady and Tramp try to steer clear of the dog pound and get back to, or find, those who love them. LADY AND THE TRAMP delivers many funny, heartwarming moments and has a strong moral worldview promoting family and sacrificing yourself to help others, but it does have brief moments of peril and shows homeless dogs stealing food.

TOY STORY 4
TOY STORY 4 is another breakthrough in great computer animation, and even greater storytelling, with a story about Woody needing to rescue a new friend who’s being held hostage in an antique shop. Filled with laughter, tears, thrills, and romance, TOY STORY 4 has a few scary scenes that merit caution for very young children.
THE LION KING (2019)
THE LION KING returns to the big screen in a live-action remake of the popular 1994 cartoon, as Simba the lion has to learn to grow up and save the ones he loves. THE LION KING is well made and has a strong moral, redemptive worldview extolling sacrifice and acting honorably, but it does have some pagan mysticism and scary scenes of lions fighting each other that merit caution for younger children.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR has Captain America resisting Iron Man, the government and the United Nations and becoming an outlaw fighting for liberty, because they want to place the Avengers team under the jurisdiction of the U.N. CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is superbly crafted and enthralling, with positive moral, redemptive messages about law and liberty, and against revenge, but too much foul language and some intense action violence warrant strong caution.
