More Detail:

A NASHVILLE WISH follows the journey of a young singer who has a dream to make it big in the Nashville country music scene but still has ties to his high school sweetheart. Despite some dialogue issues and other quality problems, A NASHVILLE WISH is a lighthearted, feel-good movie with a strong Christian, pro-family worldview, with multiple references to God and a positive message of redemption and hope.

The movie opens with Tucker singing an original song when his mother interrupts him so he can head to school. While at school, Tucker keeps his eye on his high school crush, Lisa. When Lisa hears Tucker sing for the first time, she has her eyes set on Tucker.

Tucker asks Lisa out on a date to the only country artist Lisa likes, Cassie Jo Campbell. From that moment on, Lisa and Tucker fall in love. The movie then follows the couple through the rest of their senior year of high school together.

One thing hindering their relationship is that Lisa grew up in a wealthy family whereas Tucker grew up poor on a farm. Lisa’s parents despise Tucker and his family because of their lack of wealth.

When high school graduation comes along, Tucker has his big dream of moving to Nashville to pursue a career in music. The dream includes moving to Nashville with his best friend, Chewy. Meanwhile, Lisa has the plans that her parents have laid out for her, plans that don’t include Tucker.

Tucker asks Lisa to come to Nashville with him. Lisa agrees, but not before Chewy tells her that she’ll be hindering Tucker from his music career. As a result, Lisa ends all communication with Tucker, and he and Chewy get on the bus for Nashville.

In Nashville, Tucker and Chewy naturally find that a career in country music is harder to achieve than they assumed, despite their talents. When a family friend back home dies, Tucker returns home. Still pining for Lisa, he tries to get back together with her, only to find that she’s become engaged to the clean-cut, rich boy her parents want her to marry.

The story ends with more unexpected turns and twists.

A NASHVILLE WISH shows the challenges and changes that God can take us through in our individual journeys. While we may make our own plans, God is the one who determines our steps. The characters in A NASHVILL WISH have their own plans and dreams, whether that be ending up in Nashville recording music, being happily married, or running a business back home. God has a special purpose and plan for everyone, more than what they could ever think or imagine for their own lives.

Thus, A NASHVILLE WISH has a strong Christian worldview. It has multiple references to God and a scene with families leaving a church. The movie tells a wholesome story, but some scenes suffer from lackluster dialogue and quality, making the movie sometimes seem dry and cheesy. Overall, however, A NASHVILLE WISH is a moving musical drama that shares a positive Christian message of redemption and hope. It also promotes the importance of family, trust and positive relationships. It’s a lighthearted, feel-good movie that’s nearly perfect for families.
