What You Need To Know:
KINGSMAN is an abhorrent, uneven, ultra-violent movie that at times promotes an Anti-Christian, leftist, atheist, pro-abortion agenda. At one point, the villain tests an electronic signal that turns people into super-violent fanatics on a Christian church in Kentucky full of racists who oppose abortion and homosexuality. The entertainment KINGSMAN tries to provide eventually descends into cartoonish excess. Ultimately, the cartoonish excess mirrors the movie’s leftist, atheist excess as well as its excessive violence and foul language. Thus, KINGSMAN presents a missed opportunity. Even media-wise moviegoers might want to see a fun spy adventure with some of KINGSMAN’s qualities, but the filmmakers foul things up.
(HHH, PCPC, HoHo, FeFe, AbAb, B, LLL, VVV, S, NN, AA, M) Very strong humanist worldview with strong politically correct content sometimes promoting a pro-homosexual and pro-abortion leftist, “feminist” mindset, with a scene where Pro-Life Christians who oppose abortion and homosexuality are also shown to be Anti-Semitic racists and are then brutally slaughtered, plus some minor moral elements and references to being a gentleman, protecting society and saving lives; at least 136 obscenities, four strong profanities, two light profanities, and some obscene gestures; very strong and strong violence includes woman with sharpened blades on her legs instead of feet slices off hands and arms, woman splits man in two, heads explode (many in multicolored clouds of mist), spies shoot men in heads, guns hit some bodies and blood explodes onto walls, fighting, two men hit in head by flying glass mugs, gunfights, explosions, man impaled, punching, hero dives on small terrorist grenade or bomb that was hidden from view, woman driven mad by villain’s evil electronic signal hacks through door with cleaver to kill toddler but heroes eventually block signal, and she comes to her senses, trainees ordered to shoot dogs, but guns were full of blanks (one shoots off screen to win a position but the other refuses); implied anal fornication, references to homosexuality, woman propositions man twice, and a couple obscene gestures; rear female nudity in one shot and some upper male nudity; alcohol use and some drunkenness; no smoking or drugs; and, leaders plot mass murder, villain deceives people by distributing “free” Internet and cellphone connections, kidnapping, bullying but rebuked.
KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE is a humanist spy movie that takes some angry potshots at Pro-Life Christians who oppose abortion and the radical homosexual agenda. It’s also laced with lots of strong obscene language and graphic violence that eventually becomes silly and overly cartoonish.
The plot seems a bit complicated at first, but it’s really rather simple. When World War I decimated the British upper class in England, a super-wealthy, respected tailor shop for the elite named Kingsman decided to create a secret international spy agency filled with dapper superspies who protect England and the world without taking any credit for it. The superspies are the new knights protecting Queen and Country.
After a terrorist bomb killed his friend in 1997, a Kingsman agent named Harry Hart, aka Galahad, feels responsible for the dead man’s son, Gary, nicknamed “Eggsy.” Gary quit special forces training, but is now being harassed by his thuggish stepfather’s thuggish friends. He turns to Harry for help, and Harry invites him to train as a replacement for another agent recently killed in the line of duty.
Gary agrees, but his training is interrupted when a computer genius with a lisp, named Valentine, hatches a plot with world leaders to kill off billions of people to save the planet from global warming. An outrageous, action-filled finale ensues.
Loosely based on a comic book series, KINGSMAN starts off in an exciting way, despite the constant use of the “f” word. Toward the third act, however, things come apart. The violence and political correctness get so over the top that the movie becomes more campy and silly by the minute. At the same time, the movie seems to take itself less and less seriously.
Whether this last description is true or not, however, the movie’s worldview becomes more and more humanist and more and more politically correct as it goes along. Eventually, there’s a scene where the black villain tests an electronic signal that turns people into super-violent fanatics on a Christian church in Kentucky full of Anti-Semitic racists who “hate” homosexuals and oppose abortion. Harry happens to be in the church service at the same time, and the device also turns him into a raging lunatic. Harry makes an angry statement in favor of abortion and starts killing the church members in an outrageous ultra-violent melee. Meanwhile, the frenetic guitar solo in the song “Freebird” plays in the background. This ultra-violent sequence not only equates the Pro-Life Movement with stupid racists, it also makes angry violence against Pro-Life Christians look “cool.” Only a Christophobic, baby-killing, atheistic, leftist “feminist” or “homosexual” could think up such an awful sequence.
The movie’s pro-homosexual humanist worldview is cemented at the movie’s end when a Swedish princess imprisoned by the villain promises Gary that, if he frees her, she will have heterosexual intercourse with him. When Gary has to leave to take care of the villain, she promises Gary he can engage in sodomy with her if he stops the villain and saves the world. Gary is clearly more intrigued by the second proposal than the first proposal. After killing the villain and defeating his plan, Gary returns to her, and there’s a shot of her offering Gary her naked rear end. The movie clearly says here that homosexual sodomy is more pleasurable than heterosexual intercourse. Only a loony pro-homosexual leftist could think up this kind of humor.
Although the villain is concerned about “global warming” and “climate change,” the good guys also seem concerned about it too. The only difference here is that the good guys don’t agree with the villain’s methods. Thus, KINGSMAN’s worldview still seems to promote leftist hysteria about these phony issues. Apparently, the filmmakers, like many of the world’s leaders, know nothing about the growing evidence that the world’s “climate change” advocates are falsifying the scientific evidence, as recently shown by the London Telegraph and other respected news outlets.
Finally, at one point, Gary and another agent are commanded to shoot a dog they were instructed to make their pet. Gary refuses, but the other agent agrees to shoot the dog. As a result, Gary is drummed out of the secret service. Later, however, he’s informed that the gun was full of blanks, so no dog was harmed. This is another grave moral flaw in the movie. Although the spy agency intended that no dogs would really be harmed, the agent trainee was still required to agree to “shoot” the dog in order to stay in the secret service. Of course, this is the kind of irrational thinking and immoral nonsense that humanist atheism inevitably leads to in its rejection of all religious beliefs (except for the irrational religious belief of atheism, of course).
KINGSMAN is an abhorrent, uneven, potty-mouthed, ultra-violent movie that promotes an Anti-Christian, leftist, atheist, pro-abortion agenda in one lengthy scene. The entertainment it tries to provide eventually descends into cartoonish excess. Ultimately, the cartoonish excess matches the movie’s leftist, atheist excess as well as its excessive violence and excessive foul language. Thus, KINGSMAN presents a missed opportunity. Even media-wise moviegoers might want to see a fun spy adventure with some of the qualities KINGSMAN has, but the filmmakers foul it up with their obnoxious R-rated, atheist attitude.
