BULLY

"Youth Exposé or Murder Most Foul"

What You Need To Know:

BULLY is a disturbing look at a murder by some teenagers that took place in a suburb in Florida. In the story, Marty, a high school dropout, has been friends with Bobby since they were children. Bobby is often cruel to Marty, forcing him to do things he does not want and even bloodying his nose on occasion. When they meet two girls to fornicate, Marty falls in love with one of them, Lisa. Bobby becomes jealous and in one scene kicks Marty out of the bedroom so he can rape Lisa. Lisa decides they should murder Bobby, so she enlists the help of some friends and acquaintances, including another girl whom Bobby raped and beat.

The filmmakers’ stated goal for BULLY is to warn American parents about what’s really happening in the lives of many of their middle-class, teenage children. This is a laudable goal, but this well-acted movie nevertheless contains raw and explicit sex, foul language, violence, nudity, and other immoral content. Granted, something must be done about the problem of bored, lazy teenagers listening to explicit rap music, fornicating and playing violent video games, but BULLY is not the solution
