DREAM WITH FISHES is a sad and scary story about the friendship of two men: one of is on the verge of committing suicide, and the other is dying from an illness. They meet by chance, and the sick one, Nick, convinces the suicidal one, Terry, to team up. They live out their fantasies until death claims them. Their adventures include shooting drugs, robberies, hiring prostitutes, bowling naked, adultery, and drinking. They do anything reckless, wrong and self-gratifying in the name of their impending death. In the process, they develop a friendship wherein one enlivens the life of the other.

A film with a promising premise, DREAM WITH FISHES delves into acts so rife with wrong-doing, it becomes nothing more than a journey into juvenile delinquency. An astrologer tells Nick that he will be a protector of the souls of the fishes after death. There is a total lack of spirituality in Nick and Terry’s approach to the days before death. The film is empty even while it tries to be redeeming by having Nick die a satisfied man who lived out his fantasies while Terry learns to live a renewed life with hope. The film is rife with strong language, some action violence, suicide, voyeurism, substance abuse, promiscuity, and a blasphemous situation.
