MY PEACE I GIVE YOU

Content:

(CCC) Christian worldview giving historical references to monks and Gregorian chants with no objectionable material

More Detail:

MY PEACE I GIVE YOU is a Christian meditation video, complete with images of beaches, spider webs, flowers, floral arrangements, impressionistic paintings, and baking bread. Laid on top of all these warm pictures are the sounds of Gregorian chant. Soothing, calm and mysterious, it blends with the pleasant visuals to provide a relaxing representation of God’s peace.

About every 10 minutes, a narrator talks about the different times where monks would do their chants. The first sing is Laud’s, then Sext , Vespers and the Compline . Occasionally, in MY PEACE I GIVE YOU, a person will recite some words from a monk such as St. Basil or read from the book of Common Prayer.

The result of all this is a pleasant experience that may be relaxing. MY PEACE I GIVE YOU is not an in depth look at the practice and history of the Gregorian Chant. (For an in depth video on the Gregorian Chant, MOVIEGUIDE reviewed a documentary video called GREGORIAN CHANTS in the January A, 1996 edition.) MY PEACE I GIVE YOU offers 35 minutes of pleasant, historical sacramental and liturgical music, as well as some beautiful pictures. It is not for all tastes, but nothing in it is objectionable. It is an audio/visual safe-haven for the weary.
