What You Need To Know:

In “Send Me an Angel,” the premiere of ANSWERED PRAYERS, the episode follows two families struck with tragic circumstances who find God in the midst of turmoil. A mother in Indiana hears from God to protect her children from a tornado right before it hits. Both families experience signs from God that help them in the midst of chaos.

Roma Downey hosts the six-part series ANSWERED PRAYERS where she shares modern-day miracles. “Send Me an Angel” does a good job interviewing the witnesses and reenacting events, but is sometimes a little overdramatic. That said, the episode is heartwarming and talks about prayer, God and His intervention in tragedies. It’s loaded with inspiring Christian, spiritual, moral content. The recreations do talk about violent, scary circumstances and could be disturbing to young children. A boy gets his leg run over with a lawn mower and a tornado sweeps a house off the ground, leaving the mother trapped under rubble.

In “Send Me an Angel,” the premiere of ANSWERED PRAYERS, the episode follows two families struck with tragic circumstances who find God in the midst of turmoil.

A mother in Indiana hears from God to protect her children from a tornado right before it hits. Meanwhile, in Florida, a young boy is involved in a horrific lawnmower accident and his parents have to decide whether or not his leg will be amputated. Both families experience signs from God that help them in the midst of chaos.

Roma Downey hosts the six-part series ANSWERED PRAYERS where she shares modern-day miracles. The episodes combine interviews and re-creations, along with real archive footage.

“Send Me an Angel” does a good job interviewing the witnesses and reenacting events. Sometimes the host and the special effects are a little overdramatic and overplay the spiritual circumstances. For example, they put a special effects glow over some scenes to make them appear more heavenly. This seems a little overdone.

That said, “Send Me an Angel” is heartwarming and openly talks about prayer, God and His intervention in tragedies. It’s loaded with positive Christian, spiritual, moral content. The recreations are well done, but they do talk about violent, scary circumstances and could be disturbing to young children. A boy gets his leg run over with a lawn mower and a tornado sweeps a house off the ground and leaves the mother trapped under rubble.

Overall, “Send Me an Angel” is an interesting, inspiring and worthwhile episode filled with encouraging testimonies about God intervening in everyday life.
